Xbox 360 PS3

Activision and Radical released this quite excellent trailer of Prototype showing the Top 10 reasons why anyone should buy this game. They sure don't hold back on the gore.

Hmm, it feels like I played the game already with the trailer.

A decent rent I think.

None of those ten bullet points looked particularly appealing to me, I just don't really see the point in such an overpowered character.

Plus I am really sick and tired of parkour, it's become really overused in all forms of visual entertainment.

This one looks like a dud to me and this trailer felt like desperation with it's pathetic bullet points "PWN everyone!" oh how new and exciting. I am sure it will appeal to people who think every game should be open world but I still think more focussed linear games make for more satisfying and cohesive experiences by and large.

hope to god the gameplay and story can make up for the graphics. the graphics remind me too much of the Hulk. this game probably would of been graphically astounding if it came out a few years ago, but now it seems like its struggling to keep up

dude, spiking the helicopter from midair was awesome..and elbow dropping a friggin tank?!

I really enjoyed HULK ultimate destruction and you can clearly see they took elements from that game and just made it bigger and better.

Anyone looking for mindless destruction and chaos would surely enjoy this game

I totally agree with You Splincer. I used to love Hulk UD and this one seems to deliver even more mindless bonanza with ( hopefully ) overpowered character haha. Pretty nice summer title.

How can you be sick of parkour, if it's only been in a very few games?

Mirror's Edge, Prince of Persia, Infamous, Ass Creed, and now Prototype.

The "adaptive parkour" could be a better execution of the type in Ass Creed, that's my fave 'reason'.

Its been in numerous movies as well and I just don't buy into it, I don't care how much some wanker is hopping around, they will still get shot easily enough by a bunch of armed men. I guess it suits a game with an overpowered hero character but I don't even call it parkour as that is something defined by the limits of human physiology. In this case it's more like "superhuman agility" than parkour as no human parkour practitioner can leap to the top of tall buildings.

Its just mindless entertainment..you look at a game like mirrors edge and they clearly went the route of a realistic parkour movements

Prototype is all about a super powered freak annihilating masses of enemies in the most over the top and insane means necessary..i mean you are playing as an experimental rogue of a character

This is pure arcade fun really, plus its the fantasy element isn't it? everyone wishes they could leap and do the crazy things they see in movies and games, that's why they are so popular!

the game needs some serious polish and improvements. not only in terms of its crappy city/textures and models. but things that make you go "wow, thats kinda lame" i mean, even in this, which is suposed to promote the game, when he throws the car at the chopper he slides backwards like he's on a conveyor belt.

looks like an OK rental. and thats about it.

I would assume there is some kind of power bar or other limitation to just how much of this stuff you can do in a row. This is a presentation designed to show the awesome powers that you'll have, not how you obtain them or have to balance them.

I'm definitely in the crowd of people who're getting annoyed at the whole open world trend.

But this game reminds me a lot of Spider-man as well, and I don't think that would quite have the same affect if you weren't given the freedom to do things like this in a huge environment. Making a game open world for the sake of boasting freedom is silly, but for something like this, I think it works.
