Artwork of Mistwalker's next game

The official Mistwalker site has been updated with what should be the first artwork of Sakaguchi's next big RPG project. Nothing much is known about the game except it's supposed to be Sakaguchi's most complex project ever. The artwork itself is by Kimihiko Fujisaka, who worked on Drakenguard before. Of course, no platform has been announced for the moment.
Edit: Fujisaka says the artwork is not of Mistwalker's next game, even though he's working on it.

Been looking forward to mistwalkers next game for ages, although I was hoping for Blue Dragon 2 really :(

Interesting pic, looks quite dark and gloomy.

Hopefully its not a Wii game ;)

I have not played first two games, but them seemed not that interesting to me. I hope this one will be better. Also, UEIII is not the way to go...

Looks generic (cute anime guy with big sword and lots of belts and crap on him), but at least it's more to the style of Lost Odyssey character designs. :)

Looks like a great concept. I would only assume its for the 360 as Mistwalker is owned by Microsoft.

Looks pretty boring to me. Sure, there are plenty of detail to the image but damn, it's not like i haven't seen it before. Also wtf is up with the color, or perhaps i should say lack thereof?

Um guys Mistwalker aren't owned by Microsoft, BD and LO where funded by Microsoft which is a different thing.

Okay, I was disappointed in Mistwalker's first couple games, especially since they were both developed under Sakaguchi himself. So I'm not holding my breath too much until there's more info. Also, I really hope they don't pick UE3 again. That engine, while quite versatile, simply wasn't built for RPGs!

that that picture isn't from Mistwalker's new game, but he's currently working on Mistwalker's new game...

...would be the obvious conclusion. if there's some hidden meaning, someone else will have to fill that in.

Shame this game probably won't make it to the PS3 and will be on 23 DVD9s :)

That being said, I can't wait for the next Mistwalker project. One thing though, X tattoo/scar/paintjob on the face is so...
