Xbox 360 PS3

Warner Bros. just released a new trailer of Batman: Arkham Asylum featuring some true gameplay pieces for the first time. We thought of Bioshock for the environments, Dark Sector for the bat-shuriken, Spinter Cell for the upside-down neck-snapping goodness and Lost Planet for the grappling hook. Add to that some violent hand-to-hand combat action and you get what looks like the most exciting Batman game of the last ten years.

Batman as stealth action game? Awesome. Sam Fisher never had a Bat-a-rang.

Wow, looking pretty solid gameplay-wise. Let's hope the AI is as good as Splinter Cell, and not MGS.

More games should have DFAs (death from above), and I'm very happy this has it. Only Tenchu and Riddick games do this.

BTW, you should say "Tenchu for the grappling hook".

I wish it weren't so bright in so much of the game (at least the trailers).

If this is going to be great, you should see a lot of darkness in this game so you really feel hidden and like you're sneaking around. That's why Splinter Cell is so great.
I expect if it looks like this the whole way through, that it's just going to fail in comparison to Splinter Cell.

It'd be cool if they used the Batman license and made it more like Condemned where you're a detective (a theme greatly forgotten with Batman)

I don't think the brightness of the game is going to determine whether it's only good or great. At least, not for me.

Darkness would be f'in awesome if you can take out lights with your batarang, just like in BATMAN BEGINS.

Who wants to replicate that infamous docks scene in BEGINS?

Looks like it could be good, though the fact that it looks like Batman kills those goons is a bit troubling....

I do see what he's talking about, it should have the light and shadow stuff that Splinter Cell and Riddick have so you can take out lights, hide in the darkness and use enemies' shadows when they're in the light in this sort of game. Having said that it's not exactly a dealbreaker as it still looks great. (And seems to have a great Joker. ;) )

I still don't agree that darkness is an important factor.

And Mark Hamill = win.

Yeah, and the soundtrack from Sunsoft's Batman game on MD was truly excellent!

By the way, this game looks really good but I sincerely hope they fix the framerate and tearing issues ...

Darkness would be more realistic for Batman to work with, after all he was one of the first stealth characters in entertainment (1930s). You never see him in the daylight, he's always in the shadows.

I have very high expectations and I feel they might deliver, because this is from the TV series talent.

Yeah, the Sunsoft Batman was great! Have you heard the sountrack of the MegaCD version of Batman Returns? It's awesome! (And the driving sections of the game are amazing too!)
