PC Xbox 360 PS3

... said René, community manager at Eidos. Quite hard to believe when you see these new images of Deus Ex 3, definitely colorful, almost cartoony at times. Anyway. Because we never learn, let's give René the benefit of the doubt and hold on to the foolish hope that this unexpected reboot of the series won't suck as hard as the previous one.

They're screenshots. It looks confusing because the images are small, but the community manager clearly says they're screenshots.
Those are in-game. The HUD was removed via a debug menu since these were "beauty shots".

Deus Ex 2 was great also, it didn't suck hard. But we've seen this screenshots many months ago, saw them in a mag.

Yep, these screenshots are VERY old. Deus Ex 2 was OK. Wasn't horrible but not close to as good as the first one.

Like the level design! I really need my (semi) sci-fi RPG fix...BADLY!

Also, I must be the only person on this planet who absolutely LOVED Deus Ex: Invisible War on the Xbox. One of my top favs last gen next to: Ninja Gaiden, Half Life 2 and Riddick.

Having some colour does not mean it won't be a badass slice of cyberpunk action, in fact the cyberpunk genre is plenty colourful and it's high time someone made a game to reflect this, there are only so many grey and brown games we can see before it gets very tiresome.

I have high hopes for this one...

look like target shots and concept art to me. And yes..they're months old too. Have a feeling this games not going to hit this year.

I really hope it does go back to the dark mature cyber punk that made the first so great. Dont dumb it down like the sequal. So many awesome moment in deus ex on the pc

Theese "screenshots" looks INSANLY 100% the same as the artwork they released over a year ago for some reason. Hard to belive they managed to fitt it.

Well not 100% obviously since these images ARE screenshots and not the artworks released ages ago.

Both Deus Ex games are good and while Deus Ex 2 got quite a bashing i actually think it did a better job at drawing you in many times. What Deus Ex did great was the illusion of freedom, that wasn't there as much in part two, but it was still a good game.

As for the screens, they are so small it's hard to tell but they look sort of boring. There's really nothing in any of them that makes me think it looks unique or interesting.

They made some horrible choices with the second game (universal ammo), but yeah, I wouldn't call it a bad game.

I've only played the second so my opinion of the game is more positive than most.

I've always heard great things about the first so if that's where the devs want to go with this one then I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Cartoony? What? It looks perfectly real to me. Its an alternate fantasy. Thats like saying Mirror's Edge looks cartoony, just because its bright.
The sewer thing looks grity enough, and just because its not black and white with uber contrast and bad textures doesn't mean it won't be gritty. Maybe its the actual gameplay and story and stuff, and other stuff as well. Also, remember when everyone saw Diablo 3 for the first time, and it had color.
Just like real life
Just like the previous games
ANd people were like "Wahhhh, its not dark enough!!"
Yeah. Because fat putrid blue guys made of skin sewn together that explode into a mess of worms isn't at all Dark. Guys exploding into blood and gore isn't dark. Ominous dungeons filled with creepy music and ambient souns isn't dark.

People, its called VARIETY. Look at a game like Mirror's Edge. Not a lot of variety in most of the environments. Now, look at a game like Halo 3. A l lot more variety. Halo 3 had serene beauty, and it had dark and gritty. And space ships and all that stuff too. Diablo 3 will have variety to the stuff, with darker, more oppressive areas later on.

Give the game a chance, don't base your opinions off of ENVIROMENT screens. Especially when you can't see any detail thanks to the size anyway.

Exactly. I can't stand the look of modern games anymore, I'm glad for every Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge or Deus Ex 3 I can get.

Am I the only one who thinks these look like a next (current) gen version of Perfect Dark on N64? This is exactly how I would have imagined it. I've never even played a Deus Ex game before but this art style is giving me feelings of nostalgia. Very strange!
