Xbox 360 PS3

EA released this trailer of Dante's Inferno, a really well-done one too. The game is from the developer's of Dead Space, EA Redwood Shores.

EA press release (from December 2008):
An abducted soul, a lifetime of sins, a journey to the depths of despair. Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that EA Redwood Shores, the studio behind hit horror game Dead Space™, is making Dante’s Inferno™ – a third-person action adventure adaptation of the medieval epic poem The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. The dark fiction gave birth to the Tuscan Italian dialect and is widely considered to have defined the western world’s contemporary conception of hell and purgatory. The poem tells the tale of Dante who journeys through the twisted, menacing nine circles of hell in pursuit of his beloved Beatrice.

Written in the 14th Century, The Divine Comedy was published and read aloud in Italian (unlike the Bible), thereby making the poem accessible to the mass public. The poem delivers a striking and allegorical vision of the Christian afterlife and the punishments of hell. In part one, known as Dante’s Inferno, Dante traverses all nine circles of hell; limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, wrath, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery.

“The time is right for the world of interactive entertainment to adapt this literary masterpiece, and to re-introduce Dante to an audience that, until now, may have been unfamiliar with the remarkable details of this great work of art,” said Jonathan Knight, executive producer for Dante’s Inferno. “It’s the perfect opportunity to fuse great gameplay with great story.”

Dead Space is a slow paced game with some "not so" well thought parts, like grabing ammo, etc.
Let's hope they have what is needed to make a solid action game.

Seriously. That's f*cken amazing. I got chills all over.
If they're able to make such amazing CGI, then I have no doubt about the game itself when its done.

So, God of War meets Devil May Cry? Not exactly the most original idea but I won't judge it until I see some actual footage.

PS. Ninja Gaiden 2 wasn't the first action game to use the scythe.

Yeah but it was the first game to do it and still be a decent game at the same time :P
*applying sunscreen*

Anyways, would you guys stop creaming your pants? It's just a pre-rendered clip. The screen shots available aren't as impressive.

Nice CG but I worry about the religious side of this. I don't want something as utterly foul as christianity forced down my throat when I play a video game.

Perfect my ass, even a silly thing like grabbing ammo of the floor with various enemies sorounding was as troublesome as alining Lara on the original TRaider with the levers.

One would expect that games like Gears of war and other TPShooters showed how to make it right, but it seems even anyone can make a bad game decision.

The stream player appears to be broken.

TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at com.mig69.advertising::AdProviderFactory/requestProvider()
at fPlayerIn2/xmlCompleteEvent()
at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()
at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent()
at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete()

There is also a green loading bar in the middle after this error is thrown.

it's working okay here, the hypergreen thing is part of a new UI apparently.

Does it even play the advertisement?

Nope throws the exception striaght away and then doesn't recover from it. Im running flash player 9 so it could be a 9 issue. I would upgrade but need it for a project im working on lol.

edit: you know what I think I know what it is. The usual flash player will probably ignore exceptions but im running a debugger version for my current project which is probably why its stalling when it hits the error. Although I think its a new issue because someone in the killzone thread had a similair problem.

I wonder if you could just install the new Flash for a certain browser, and just use that one to view movies, depending on what browser you are doing for what.

I know I have to have two separate installations of Flash for Firefox and IE7.

(btw, that green interface would have fit for Xboxyde, but not here)

I fail to see how they have anything to do with eachother.

Looking forward to seeing some gameplay. Looks like it could have a really interesting setting and characters.

They actually didn't say anything about NG2 being the FIRST to use the scythe. Stop looking for excuses to bring up your little fantasy girls.
