Unless you're hot I guess.
i wasn't a huge katamari fan, i guess it was a bit too esoteric for me, and nobynobyboy seems to be following in the same vein.
Unfortunately, I have to agree. I've been following this game for a while, and I just don't see the appeal. Sure, it's crazy, but so is my grandma. If this game gets a bunch of good review scores, either there's something very special burried very deep beneath the surface or most game reviewers are indeed pathetic sheep. I might have liked Katamari, but that doesn't mean I have to pretend to like this just because it's designed by the same person.
maybe it would be good to check it first ?
and what somebody finds appeal and is enthusiastic and you don't find it
and this makes the other people pathetic sheeps and you feel better LOL
and for some real interesting info check
this review http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/noby-noby-boy-re...
There is a reason why this game cost the same as a Pack of cigarettes... try to figure it out.
i think i'm gonna have to buy it.
hmm so you gree that this game has only crazines and nothing more to offer ?!

And that's precisely what I'm talking about. When a Western developer (say, Rare) develops a game with a clear focus on sandbox gameplay, plenty of wackiness, strong community aspect and a low price (oh, say, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts), it's a disappointment. When that cool cat Takahashi does pretty much the same thing, it's brilliant. I really despise those double standards.
No, what would potentially make them pathetic sheep would be coming up with excuses for praising the game just because it's made by "those wacky Japanese!" Reading the Eurogamer review doesn't help much. It confirms there's not much game to it (no goals and no structure, for starters), but it's crazy and has a neat community aspect - 9/10.

this however, is almost an "anti-game" and thats why it is being praised, in much the same way flower or flow are "anti-games" they remove modern game conventions and opt for playing for playing's sake, not because the game tells you to.
except they're nothing alike. nuts and bolts still kept to traditional "game" conventions, you had goals, you had objectives...the only "wacky" thing about nuts and bolts was it's art. thats it.

Oh, I'm all for experimentation and it should certainly be encouraged, but it should be rewarded only if the end result is not only different, but good. Experimentation and craziness for craziness' sake is not something I can get behind. If you give a game a score of 9/10, it better be because the game is truly brilliant and not just because it's an unusual and charming diversion. There are thousands of "different" games out there, especially in the PC indie space, but only a small percentage of those are any good. Noby Noby Boy might or might not be one of them, I can't make up my mind yet.
especially if they are that cheap.
it's not like somebody makes you to buy it...
why do you worry so much about people who are excited about strange crazy things?
maybe you should be worry more about people who spend 15xmore on some madden
game EVERY year... check how many people do this.
and yeah noby is everything i was expecting i even have great time reading manual :)
