Looks good! I thought Pure was a bit limiting due to the fact it was only quad bikes, but it did look amazing and it played well too.

Indeed, fingers crossed for this one...

looks wicked! and since the collission detection can't be any worse than in the last motorstorm, i'd say this should be quite a bit above Motorstorm, not only graphically.

don't know about that... they are two different beasts alltogether.
one being a closed circuit racer, and the other a no barriers one, the expectations vary.

Wow, is that really ingame? The level of detail for an open world racer is surprising. Going to keep an eye on this one.
It is ingame unless they like to do popups in CGI to make it more real. :)

I tought it was funny the shadows referance, as this game seems to have some f**ing ugly ones, you can see in the enviremonts of the mountain, so I laughed.

But then I remember that Motorstorm has the same stupied Issue of flickerry uglyass thing, so I cried.

Some of the best looking games this gen have horrible shadow behaviour, I've just learned to accept it. :P

looks pretty cool, i just wish it was MORE like motorstorm in terms of big air and craziness. atm it kinda reminds me more of something like mx vs atv untamed, where it has hints of the "extreme" but not quite enough to make it really exciting.

hopefully it should be pretty interesting tho.

Looks promising so far, but I'd be worried if the game has:

1) Lag issues, which is more significant if the bulk of the game is online
2) If there's enough players in the world to make it worthwhile

I'd like to be proved wrong, but I'm not going to rack up my hopes too high!

Considering they are dishing out over 14,000 km² of openworld, racing goodness; that is not a typo, you read right, over fourteen thousand square kilometers (almost 9,000 mi²). I believe that is at least 100x the size of GTA: San Andreas.

It's easily one of the largest videogames of all time, if not the largest. All of it openworld, all of it streaming seamlessly with no load screens.

I think when you take that into consideration, the game looks pretty good.

I am loving the entire over-the-top, post-apocalyptic vibe. There seems to be a lot of the spirit of games like Ubisoft's Speed Devils (Dreamcast) here, and that is a good thing. I guess it now all comes down to control, physics and play mechanics. Some people want arcade style, others want sim style. Personally I hope they give the option for both, and allow the player to chose . . . or better yet, include a slider option, so every player can chose just how realistic or arcadey they want the game to feel. I do not feel there is any reason why everyone who wants to play this game, should not get to play it the way they want to play it.

ever since they went to the signle word titles they've been on a roll this new engine is awesome hope they keep expanding it. 14,000km is just frigging insane with this quality not to mention the weather effects and acts of nature you'll have to deal with (tornadoes etc)

def looking more and more like a buy.... pure was a stunt game of course it was arcady wtf FreeSwag, this is racing it will be more racing/grid style.

14,000 km2 of what exactly? It's fun throwing numbers like that, but we all know that not even 10 km2 of that 14000 will be unique. The rest will all be copy/paste of boringness.

It looks interesting though, but Codemasters...? Bummer...

I thought the 14,000sq km was a typo many times over when I first read up on this game... even now it seems mind boggling, I can't possibly conceive of such a large world for a racing game. Even if the gameplay isn't quite up to the standards of other racers, the scenery and exploration alone will make this game worth playing in my eyes.

Well yeah you say that, but there has to be a reason for it. If they could only manage 10km sq of unique scenery, then surely they'd be perfectly happy with a 5,000sq km game world? It'd still be bigger than anything else on the market, we'd still be blown away by the scale of it. The very fact they're pushing for that extra space suggests that somehow they've managed to keep it varied enough to go that extra mile. Pun subtly intended.

That's a fair argument, but I just don't see it happening. I think they just like throwing numbers...devs and publishers just like that kind of stuff. ;)
