After watching the finally ingame trailer of final fantasy 13, its scale and the great details inside it, all other games look less interesting. white knight story has huge scale but details are not as good. star ocean 4 has good details but scale is limited and commonplace. I think final fantasy 13 will be the first great rpg in this cycle of consoles.

I just can not wait for its demo in the new ffVII-advent children ps3 bundle.

It looks pretty but I'm going to wait on the reviews for this one. I didn't like Infinite Undiscovery or Tales of Vesperia at all due to their brainless button mashing 'action' battle systems, and this looks very similar.

Please can we have more turn based J-RPGs? You know, games with actual depth and strategy. Well, at least I still have Disgaea 3.

I've still to complete Skies of Arcadia yet, and Grandia II, and Blue Dragon.

I love RPGs, but life tends to get in the way of ever completing the damned things!!! (I've had the dreamcast ones since they came out!!!)

This does look pretty slick, and just because some button-mashing is involved, it doesn't mean that it has to be mindless. Some of that is up to the developers themselves, but ultimately will be determined by the individual's style of play.

That's my five eggs...

:o)

The only thing that worries me is the camera positioning. Not much overview at all, I hope the player just sucks at controlling the camera.

Hm something about this game doesnt look right... I dont know, but this and Infinite Undiscovery have (same developers) have weird generic look of the environments. Colours look somehow weird and it feels like they're only big fields of grass or snow, or large areas inside with lack of details. Where are the details? Its so empty... :O

Your also comparing a game with one of the highest budget out there, aka FF13 vs a game with just a standard sized budget. And it's all known that for the budget most goes to the graphic department now days, it won't say anything related to how actually fun the game is, just the look.

For me SO series have always been one of the most fun games to play, I still rank SO3 to be the most fun RPG to PS2, even thought it may not have had the best plot nor graphics it had the gameplay which is very rare for an RPG, it was actually very fun to play.

Same goes for SO2 to PSX.

Damn this looks sexy. I think I'll be getting this as my first xbox360 game in a year.

I've been way to close with my other consoles..

is this made by the same ppl as Star Ocean 2? cause i might definitley buy it if it is, that had one of the best storylines for a game.

I really like the burst of color in this game. As for the comparison for FF13, I think its a little unwarranted considering the game is practically a year away from a comprehensible release for most of the world while SO4 is coming out next month!

Granted, I'm loving the fast paced action. I loved the combat in Tales of Vesperia and combat in SO4 feels similar to it.

SO4 feels very 'anime' like for a JRPG...even more than Inifnite Undiscovery.

I'll definitely get this when its release in Asia.

From what I saw of the FFXIII gameplay, I'm not sure of what scale you're talking about. The enivronment the battle took place in was relatively small and constricted.

Very nice. It's good to see that dev's are starting to use some more advanced shading techniques, and do I see some parallax mapping in there? Nice. Only Issue I have is that it seems a bit over-textured for a game with such an anime style...

very impressive character models...i just wish they spent as much time and effort on the environments cos they can only be described and fugly.

Exactly, like older FF games, every video shows small environments actually so far

Star Ocean 4 has some huge places , far bigger than that small coriddor anyway the combat in the new FF13 video was on

That environment above doesnt look big at all...but there do seem to be some fairly large environments in the other video.

Anyway, I think the game looks very nice and has a fast paced...I think the environments are somewhat flat and lacking in geometry and the separate battle arenas are boring and empty....
