Here's a very "better late than never" video, featuring the demo of FromSoftware's Ninja Blade. It was released on the Japanese marketplace a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't been able to capture it until now. The game is a mix of pure action and QTE moments, and it looks and plays pretty good.

looks good :)
but i just hate(there are many other words i would like to use but it would cause me a ban)the main character design.
he looks stupid ,repleasible, lame, and has no charisma at all.
looks awesome :D
What I meant was: I would like to see a ninja game that is based around stealth action.
Whats the point of having "click-the-right-button!" events when it just resets everytime until you make it? Why not just have it be a normal cinematic, or even better, an actual FIGHT?
Imagine how cool it would have been to fight those flying things while falling down, instead of clickin a button to let the cinematic continue.
Fuckin bullshit :( Why do all damn games have these stupid things nowadays? I hate it.. Its not gameplay, its whack-a-mole with the A B X Y buttons.
The actual normal combat in this game looks cool though. But i'd get so sick of those quick-time events that it doesnt matter. Ruined :(
There was only ONE game that really pulled off the quick-time events, and it was the first and last one to do it right.
Fahrenheit. Nuff said.
Fahrenheit. Nuff said.
But I second that QTE's don't make any sense (or even less), if they reset the combination with every faulty try ... apart from being the most stupid design choice IMO ...
A: Hey the player has too much fun!
B: Throw in some more QTE's - that'll show him!
Just a sign of incompetence on the side of these devs it seems to me. The, actual realtime, combat doesn't look that bad, but nothing worth getting excited about either. So what do ya do? Throw in ye good ole QTE's...yeah...:|
Too bad it doesn't even compare to an almost 5 year old game running on previous gen hardware. Even more so that that same franchise itself hasn't evolved in those 4 years either...
First, the speed >>> NG is much faster and you really "feel" that you control a ninja
Second, the combat system in the demo >>>> reminds me on Heavenly Sword:
A big and strong but slow sword, 2 katanas with some kind of chains for ranged attacks and another sword which is a good overall weapon. ehrm...well *yaws*
Quick Time Events are nice to watch but it can make easy games even easier and boss fights became stupid routine. ONLY this one way to defeat them (press the A Button in the right moment etc.) >>> no challenge >>> no fun.
The setting is NG2 like, with demons and high tech stuff etc.
Ninja Blades graphics are good, sweet animations too. :)
I know, it was just a demo and the playable level was some kind of tutorial but if this is all what the game can offer, than good night.
IMO the demo was nice to watch but not really nice to play.
