Xbox 360 PS3

Prince of Persia is back, and despite some controversial choices in terms of accessibility it's an excellent new episode. Everyone but the most hardcore gamers who are looking for a "smash your gamepad on the nearest wall" frustratingly hard game should take a good hard look at this game. The hours I've spent in this enchanting game with some not so one dimensional characters are some of the most memorable in the last few years. The Ubisoft Montreal team in charge of this game did an admirable job creating a compelling and believable world to play in, and when the technical side is just as good I can but recommend to go ahead and give this game more than a try!

Blim, I am not sure what you mean here:

Does it mean, the game is WAY TOO easy ?

Finishing the game won't be a very tough challenge. Getting all light seeds will be a bit harder.

Those glowing jump pads look a bit stupid gameplay wise. Maybe it's worth a try, though.

^^ OMG, you guys have me so hyped for the game now.:D
Blim when you say "The hours I've spent in this enchanting game with some not so one dimensional characters are some of the most memorable in the last few years" does that mean the story is engaging? i don't want to watch the vids in case of spoilers.

The story itself isn't that amazing, but the two characters work really well together and it's a pleasure to watch them talk about themselves and stuff.

Great work Blim Blim just out of curiosity will you be uploading any more videos, because I need something to quell my anticipation and I'm not one of those who believe experiencing the opening segments of a game before release to be a spoiler

Thanks for the video (as always).

I think one of the very very few to whom these 3D Prince of Persia don't appeal any will to play.
I like god of war, but not PoP... in fact the last prince of persia i liked was the the old Prince of Persia 2.

Maybe one day, but just not right now :) Hope you will all enjoy though.

combat and graphics aside, has the voice acting and dialogue always been this terrible in PoP games?

The first few minutes are a bit forced in terms of dialogs, but I think afterwards the two chracters have a great chemistry.

Is there some decent difficulty? Thats all I want to know. It doesn't have to be usual PoP, but it looked very easy, very as you said, accessable. PoP has always been about the acrobatics and stuff for me, the gameplay. It had interesting back story to an extent, but it was that hard, keep at it gameplay I loved.

They don't really add gameplay, just a visual event really, and allows for more open levels.

I'm curious about the enviroments, as these video's won't load and I doubt there are more then 2 levels shown, so, are there interior enviroments, and smaller tighter area's? I wasn't too thrilled that all we really saw were expansive, open area's, which are good at healthy levels, I love big enviroments, but what about tighter spaces? That can REALLY take advantage of the princes abilities?

I agree.

The prince even says "ah craaaaaap" through falling, even though Naughty Dog made Nathan Drake say that when FALLING from a plane with a parachute, now the prince is also falling and says the samething (even though he never ends it with crap).

It's like Ubi loved Uncharted so much with Nathan Drake's personality they decided to have pretty much everything for the new prince.

I wanted to get this but I decided to wait for the reviews to poor in.
Even though the scores are high (which I assume is because of the visuals) the gameplay is dumb.

I hate GameTrailers.com, but their review says everything I was thinking, shocking to be honest.

No skill required, horrible dialogue, no new weapons.

I even let the one-vs-one fight be if the rest was up for it, but it isnt.

The visuals, vistas, music, animation, art is good.
But what are those good for if the gameplay isnt up for it.

The platforming is good, I give them that, and the combat seems good and scripted which I also like.

But prince and Elika (main reasons) I hate, especially the prince which is suppose to be the main character.

I completely disagree Sath, the Prince and Elika are great. Did you play the game or are you basing your opinion on small snippets of dialogs?
I was very skeptical with the Prince before playing the game, but they really nailed his character.

The only thing that bothers me is the voice acting for the prince (Elika is fine).
I mean everytime the prince makes a joke or trying to be funny, I keep seeing Nathan Drake.

Not only does the voice belong to Nathan but the way the prince makes his jokes or trying to be funny is very Nathan-ish.

It doesnt need someone to play the game to like or dislike the voice acting (in my case, the prince only), I am not talking about the gameplay here, that would be something different.

The prince is too cheesy now, like if it the game was mad by Disney and Ubisoft published it.

PS. Those 10 minute of footages with so much dialogue isnt considered "snippets".

The prince is certainly more Han Solo-ish than he is like Nathan, who by the way was very Han Solo-ish too. ^^

Do you believe Nathan Drake invented everything? If the actor's voice annoys you that much, why don't you play the game in another language? That way, it will sound a lot more exotic. ;)

The prince is a more cornier version of Drake, and no I dont believe he invented everything.
But I do feel its very unessecary to say the same line in the same way in the same scenario (falling) with the same voice for the prince as it was for Drake.

And I believe Ben Mattes said they had Han Solo insperation.

If I could change only the language for the prince and the rest in english, now that would be interesting.

You can’t have your cake and eat it. ;)

I know what Ben Mattes said, I was there. ^^

I just wanted to point out the fact that a character like Nathan is mostly inspired by Han Solo too, hence the similarities. So I don't think Ubisoft had Drake in mind when they created the new prince. :)

I also don't think there's an "uncharted copyright" on this "aaahhh crap" line and I'm pretty sure you can hear it in many other games/movies anyway. I'm afraid a lot of people are simply bitching about minor details and you might miss quite an entertaining game. Just rent the game and give it a try at least.

Except for the d-pad, the 360's controller is probably one of the best. It's certainly more ergonomic than the alternatives and doesn't suffer from analog stick dead zones.

But I see that doesn't stop you from randomly trolling the 360.
