Look good. It's same stuff in all Sonic games though.
But I guess that's just Sonic.

Looks too confusing and speedy. I would have preferred pure 3D. Not this kind of mix.

Controlling Sonic to the sides with a thumbstick at high speeds is such a retarded design choice. There is a REASON Secret Rings worked so well with tilt control, because you had a fixed position based on how much you tilted the controller, he didn't just start running off to the side when you did.

Here it's the same wonky, sluggish side-to-side movement witnessed in the similarly rubbish high speed sections in 06. In this particular level there doesn't seem to be quite as many obstacles bent on getting randomly Havoc physical with your hedge-head, but I'm sure it'll do plenty its part to be hair-jerkingly infuriating.

The sixaxis/dual shock 3 could easily offer a Secret Rings like control environment making this game into a given success (within reason), but catering to a one size fits all approach (with the Wii version forsaking tilt control aswell, in favour of analog stick slug-mess!) it's bound to be an equally ham fisted experience across all formats.

Luckily whenever it goes into trigger based insta-dodge mode it seems to fare way better, and the Sonic Rivals-esque pseudo 2D sections should stay relatively harmless if said PSP endeavour is a good measure of this game's results.

As far as I can tell though, the proper Sonic Adventure like, slower (yet normal Sonic) platforming bits seem to be the most enjoyable element of this game, so I hope there's plenty of that. As for Werehog arm wobble fest, I think it's impossible to tell if it's any fun or not. As with all brawlers, the actual feedback from kicking ass determines whether it's a good time, and you can't really tell from a video.

*tries to hide hopes and dreams by over-analysing and speculation*

Please be good. :|

Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast is one of my all time favorites. There are very few 2D moments in that game. Even Sonic Adventure 2 was a disappointment for me because they removed Adventure fields, the option to choose a character and the possibility to change view (huge 3D thing for me) by using a directional pad.

Yeah, Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast was a very good game. The best yet imo.
I remember waiting months before the release of the console, drooling on the VF3 and Sonic adventure videos. aahh.. Dreamcast...kind of ironic one of the best hardware ever is one of the least known and succesfull.
