No Random Battles CHECK
It Borrows some of the real time stuff from Blue Dragon - CHECK
It has real time components a la Lost Odyssey during Battle - CHECK
The Unions aspect makes it feel like an RTS - CHECK

LOL, what he said :)

Except Alimo as i understand it, the running past enemies was not to avoid random battles but to include all the enemies being marked in one big fight against your parties, this gives you a very fast way to build up your experience points, but at the same time you must be careful not to bite off more than you can chew.

Yeah of course. That thing basically slows down time for all enemies, you can use to alert all enemies and get them all in battle or you can use to slow them down and just run past them. It works either way :D

This is so epic. The cutscenes, they are.. they're beauties. WiN!

But you know, framerate. It's bothersome, troublesome. I just hope this is no final version - or just fix this on the ps3 version. I'll buy, depending on which console version looks best. Xbox360 has sexy sharp textures, but ps3 is sexy itself.

You can see the influence from FF11 and 12, which isn't a bad thing, looks pretty good.

This seems to have my favorite aspects of Blue Dragon (field) and from Lost odyssey (battle) awesome mix. I like that its turned based, and thet its large scale...love it. The only worry i have is that the framerate problems wont be fixed, but im hoping it will. Day 1 purchase.

It's UE3 so don't expect the framrate problems to go away.

its not a given that because a game runs on UE3, that it must have framerate problems..

Do UE3 powered games have framerate problems then?

All the ones I have played have done, even Gears had problems with the cutscenes, I duno about Gears2 though.

But anyhow there is a first I suppose, but I really don't expect them to go away in the short time left.

Maybe somethings wrong with your 360 then.. as gears had a flawless framerate on mine, as did darksector, as did bioshock, UT3, and brothers in arms.. atleast to what i can remember..and the fact that i dont remember them dipping regularly to a crawl it couldnt of proved to be that much of a problem.

Mirrors edge and gears 2 seem to be taking to it alright too.

.
In gears of wars framedrops were in some cutscenes, not the gameplay itself.

You find that in these type of areas, near all jrpgs have these sections that are sparse and empty, but most towns and citys are bristiling and full of life.

i know, thats the problem, surely a dev could actually make the bulk of the game (combat areas) more intersting to explore. large areas of nothing but a few rocks isnt a fun area to play around in. its almost like they forgot to design that portion of the game.

Well lets face it, if you are running around a desert area with viscious monsters you aren't going to have local towns folk populating the area.

Well i think they are very balanced for the most part, yes you find barren lands that are sparse but thats because well there barren lands.., if you play through a jrpg you will find lots of interesting places and areas to be explored throughout the game, i think the mix is very good.

i dont expect people, just a more interesting environment to run around in...a few points of interest even if they're purely easthetical like abandoned wooden shacks or something just add to the detail and make it more interesting then a flat landscape with one or 2 rocks every now and then.
