Xbox 360 PS3

You may remember one of the first next-gen games ever more or less announced, it was called Grand Raid Offroad and had completely disappeared when the French developers of Asobo got to work on other games. Well, the good news is that GRO is back, now named Fuel, and it will be published by Codemasters. Five screenshots inside.

I hope they arent using Codemasters engine(s). If they are then expect the usual 30 FPS and central pivot.

Does anyone know of a Motocross game for Xbox 360 or PS3? I like games like these when you can ride a few different vehicles. But I want a game like "PURE" (Only ATVs) or the first games from "Moto racer" series.. when they fully concentrate on how one specific vehicle behave instead of inserting lots of different vehicles that do behave in their unique ways.

While I agree with the central pivot sentiment I think it's less of a problem in motorbikes and ATV vehicles than it was in GRID and DIRT.

I really hope this turns out good. I really wanted to like Black Rock's "Pure", but something about the way it handles is just slightly off, just like it was with their previous ATV titles. Awkward things like the way the camera turns slightly when you perform tricks takes you out of the dizzying experience it should be. It just didn't work for me the way I had hoped.

This has my attention now though. I think it's odd that this type of game hasn't been tapped more by more competent studios. Motorstorm barely has any real competition and that's just really strange to me.

I think MS should revive their "Madness" franchises and give us a Motorcross Madness 3 for starters.

Like the tornado.but honestly this looks way worse than Pure or Motorstorm. Maybe it gets better in motion, though.

This game looks very interesting in the dev diary that was released awhile back. Thankfully it does not use Codies Neon Engine so there won't be that central pivot and cars feel light as a feather problem. They showed some ingame and the physics and graphics looked quite good.

I plan on getting Motorstorm 2 as well but this one could trump it. A huge open game world, full day night cycle, and dynamic weather. Much better than there initial concept for GRO.

Motorstorm2 for me all the way. this game looks like "MEH" imo, but i guess another offroad racer can't do any harm, especially one that's multiplatform.(should make people appreciate the MS series a bit more :p)

ah yes, i remember that video, it sounds a bit too ambitious to me, lots of room for glitches(literally).

And why go anywhere when you are racing? If you want to win, then the best way seems to me straight forward.

Of course it isn't. In open world racing the fastest way isn't always the shortest way.

This was already stated before! It's only published by Codemasters. It DOES NOT use the same engine, which is called Neon. This is a new game engine made inhouse by Asobo. And it looks much better in videos.

The Dirt-engine is called Neon. The Grid-engine is called EGO. Ego is ofcourse the improved engine of Neon.

I realise that. Suppose I should start refering to it as EGO now. It's just kind of stupid since it's the same game engine as Neon. They just made a few improvements and decided to rename it for some reason. Epic made all those improvements to the Unreal Engine recently and they didn't change the name or start calling it Unreal Engine 4.

I totally agree!!!. The thought of expolring 15`000 sq kilometers of open terrain, (or however much they originally suggested), is going to be truly awesome!. I wanted this concept ever since playing the first Smugglers Run years ago on my Playstation 2.

Don't know what to think about Fuel....

I've played Smugglers Run 2 and love it (awesome missions and pursuits thanks to great AI, freeride). I remember when I was playing a lot only to drive somewhere around the map and feel the freedom :)
