Looking as good as ever! i really cant wait for this. The flute that you play apprently helps you locate rare items. I cant wait to find out how that link system works. We're so spoiled this year with good JRPGs.

Visually the game is a hair better than Blue Dragon. Lost Odessey still edges it out. Hopefully the gameplay and story is where the game truly shines.

Oh please. comparing with Cartoonish clay and semi-gritty realistic looks?
Please, stop right there. Go play "folk"lore instead.

I think this game is looking better htan both LO and BD personally, and I really loved both those titles. I guess the main thing is I dont see any hitches in the screenies here like there were in both those titles. Regardless, Im really looking forward to this game. I just hope the story and gameplay are as good as I have come to expect from Tri Ace.(They have created my favorite series in Star Ocean, as well as many other amazing titles Ive enjoyed)

the character models look ok, but the levels themselves look terrible. And this game is still worse titles rpg coming this year. The thing that this has going for it though is real time combat. And its a real shame that star ocean, and that other game that i always get confused with this, are both turn based.

Notice how microsoft seem to be keeping their square exclusives, even though square supposedly dont believe in exclusives anymore for a reason why the 360's getting FF. I think what they ment to say was that they dont believe in ps3 exclusives anymore.

Also apparently the 360's supposed to be getting Tekken too.. but thats just on the fanboy grapevine at the moment. Same reasoning.. Namco dont believe eclusives to be profitable enough...even though ace combat was/is exclusive to the 360. Theres no loyalty in business kids.

supposedly this title had very bad framerate problems at E3, so don't expect too much, I'm not convinced it looks as good as Blue Dragon either, lets wait till we see it in motion first, because from what I have seen it doesn't look as good as Blue Dragon in motion, not that any of this matters.

I'm sure the game will be great regardless of how it looks.

This game looks to the best RPG out this year to me, not sure where you are seeing poor levels. Also, MS funded this entire game, it was originally a MS studios and Tri-Ace only production, so the odds of seeing it on the PS3 are nil. Regardless of how Square wants to promote games across all platforms.

In response to jollipop, Im only optimistic becuase tri-ace makes my favorite titles. The premise of it being 100% realtime makes me think of FFXII, which I thought was one of the worst RPGs in the last 15 years. (and I tend to play a lot of rpgs) The framerate issues ive heard about and they do concern me a bit, but again, I kind of have blind faith in Tri-ace as they are the last company that consistantly puts out good rpgs imo. I still think this game looks stunning in terms of screenies, better than BD and LO, but as someone else mentioned BD is really all about style. I found Eternal sonata to be a better looking game than BD, but both really impressed me by bringing me into a new world when I was playing. Graphically they were both gems, but had flaws that kept htem from perfection.(frame rate, screen tearing, limited environments) This one doesnt look perfect, but it looks amazing to me in screenies so im happy as of now.

I can tell this game will look unbelievable in motion, but it would love even more unbelievable, IF the game doesn't end up having serious framerate issues.

Blue Dragon had it's own unique style so it's sometimes difficult to say this or that looks better since both games are went for very different looks. Blue Dragon looks fantastic, but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that this game could look more impressive.

I've seen some pretty damn amazing looking things that look even better when I watch them on my HDTV plus this game has some amazing special effects and on top of that has some great looking art and some of the situational battles I've seen look pretty awesome.

I didnt realise Ms funded the whole game, i know they're producing it..but i didnt know they had the rights to it. Its a shame they're not doing the same with an existing jrpg ip like star ocean.. which will almost certainly hit the ps3 at some point.

Seriously though.. you've seen the screen shots, you've seen the demo vids.. are you telling me that you think the quality of the backgrounds, the textures of the levels, are on par with the characters? They're not doing it for me.. and thelastremnant just looks better as a whole for me.

Really? good stuff!
It isn't, in fact Star Ocean is made by Tri-Ace, the VERY same company who's doing this title. Expect the combat system in this game be quite similary to what you find in SO4.

In any event, this is indeed the most interesting RPG title this year, why? It have choices that most JRPG doesn't have, plus I love Tri-Ace real time combat systems and also love there plot in there games and specially there special positivists they always apply to there games :)

If you ask me, if there is one JRPG out there who is the most promising this year, it's this game alright.

And I also getting quite tired of this new game graphic whores lately. It seems to be the most easiest argument nowdays to turn down games and say they suck, i wish peoples stooped with it, This game looks great, it's not bad it's not ugly and indeed it's not the best looking game in the world, but does it really need to be?
