E3: Gameplay of Street Fighter IV

Walking by Capcom's showroom, I couldn't resist the temptation of some Street Fighter IV ass kicking. In all modesty, I would underline the fact that my Ken made some grown men cry. I'll let you judges !

This is a must buy for me looks great but the only problem I see from the video is that the fireballs are thrown a little slow.

Looks very pretty, but isn't it pretty much the same as SFII Turbo on the SNES? The fighting mechanic never seemed that deep, often resulting, as that video shows, in block, dragon punch, block, dragon punch, fireball, block, rinse and repeat. What made VF and SC so good was the constant countering and the massive array of combos and moves you could pull off. Behind the eye candy, I don't think this has moved on, and really can't see it being that great. It's very very nice lookin' though, and I guess eye candy often sells over substance.

Well.. personally I dig the old SFII better than either VF or SC just because of that fact, much more arcade feeling to it, gets the blood pumping. Besides.. I think there should be enough combos avail for the hardcore fan, all depends on the players skill ;)

whats with everybody who demos a game on a vid having to be really good. whether or not they suck isnt the issue its the game itself thats being judged. this game looks good. this will be the first street fighter to be bought with my money ever.

That Ken player really needed to do some c.MK > Fireball or something, some kinda basic combos here.

Wow! That looked a lot better in motion than I thought it would. Maybe if this sells well enough we will get lucky and see a remake of Marvel VS Capcom using this engine.

really dont like the look of this. that "vs capcom" game that was recently anounced looks a whole lot better to me. look a lot more like 2D sprites and generally just looks a lot more fast paces and fun.

Game looks like crap in screen but I'll be damned if I'm not a little impressed with that video. Hopefully we'll see a demo soon. The "2D mechanics in a 3D environment" thing doesn't sound THAT appealing to me.

I was expecting some SF EX type gameplay, but this looks cooler.
Picture quality from that display looks fantastic. That can't be an LCD as it looks too good. Capcom is hooking up some great displays into that arcade cabinet.
