E3: Prince of Persia gameplay video

Snoopers is still struggling to upload anything from the showfloor, and it's a real shame since we have tons of great stuff waiting. But still, he managed to upload this great video of Prince of Persia showing the whole demo level. What an amazing game.
We'll have a more detailed walkthrough video online in a few days.

the struggle UBI had with AC to get it on ps3 paid off...from the vids Ive seen this looks and runs identically on both systems.

This is my first PoP since the original on PC me thinks...

A very very strong influence from ICO and Okami here hehe

Great game a must buy for me!

A HD direct feed for me to save it on my PS3 HDD to watch it would be good.

Looks great. Stunning graphics and animation. My only complaint would be that the prince's face looks a little.... off?

Not much fighting in that stage. I would hope there will be a lot more combat intensive levels in there as well.

They haven't announced the release date yet. Wonder if it'll be a spring '09 release.

Superb art design - the slight risk has paid off.

Easily one of the most stunning looking next gen titles.

Incredible looking combat, amazingly fun looking traversal of the environments and even more amazing art design.

Ubisoft's has definitely been one of this generations most impressive developers. I enjoyed Assassin's Creed and this one is looking like it'll be even better and can't forget their impressive first efforts at making a naruto title.

have they taken away the risk of falling by making the woman catch you all the time? if so im not sure i like that, i realise they have to get round the lack of the sands of time, but i dont know if this is the way to do it.

I was never really a big Prince of Persia fan mainly because of the jumping; I'm not very good at it. Heh. The art direction is brilliant and it seems like they brushed up the fighting system as well. While I might not buy it, I'll rent it for sure.

I think that the girl catching you is similar to a double jump. I could be and most likely am completely wrong.

I'm pretty sure that there is timing involved when you get grabed in the air, and I'm pretty sure the combatsystem works the same way. Just like Assasins Creed.

I didn't get the impression that she catches you if you fall. Obviously I'm just guessing here, but it seemed to me that the player was either pressing a button (like a fancy double jump) oooorrr that certain jumps automatically trigger her special jump.

Whatever it is, the game looks pretty good. It didn't feel THAT fluid (animation wise) especially at the beginning, at least, not at the level of Mirror's Edge. But still, it looked like good fun and great art design.

there is a "double jump", but theres a part when the guy clearly falls at the begining, she pulls him up in mid air and then the "double jump" animation kicks in...like she's your safetly net if you fall. kinda takes the risk away if thats the case.

Looks great, my only gripe is the man character is like someone from Friends or something.

Korn; Elika takes you back to the "startish" bit of that particular section. It's sort of like a normal lives system but it doesn't run out. I was worried about it too at first, but I think it's a pretty smooth way to solve it, especially considering it's now an open, non-linear world.

no, i mean, the part at 0.44 seconds. he falls (prince says "thats right") and then the "double jump animation kicks in seperate from the previous "pull up from falling" animation. i dont mean when you actually die.

anyway, anyone think the voices are a little too "american"?

Well, they're using more of an adventurer type hero this time. He's very Han Solo or Mad Max.

They already did the noble kind, I like it that they're changing it around. This is sort of a wanderer, a nomad, that works his way towards heroism rather than a born hero and nobleman who.. well.. keeps at it.

so that mean he has to sound like a 16 year old american. the dude needs an accent. same goes for the girl.

You just said he has an accent though, all be it an American one, but yea seeing as he is a persian prince he should have an Iranian accent.

The voicework for the Prince is really flat and underwhelming.

Not only the voicework sound out of place, the dialogue, and the voice directing don't fit well with the whole art-style and theme of this game. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with the sarcastic-Han-solo type of a character which this new Prince clearly is....BUT..the way they've done it here is just annoying.

I mean, even Altair sounded better...and thats' saying something :D

Also the animation that KornDog was talking about when the prince shout " That's Right" is the same "Double-jump" seen in the video, only the timing is little different.

The voicework is horrible just like the humor....

And the gameplay is just like TMNT only with new graphics.......
