Xbox 360

As usual, the bonus video of Gears of War 2 included with the 360 version of Unreal Tournament 3 has been leaked early, and you can now download it here with a not great but still watchable quality.
Update: 720p version up!
Update 2: Video deleted at Midway's request.

Those new additions sound really exciting
Meat CTF or whatever it was called sounds pretty excellent

This makes me wonder how the SP is though...

Yeah, game looks great! Not "OMFG best graphics ever" great, but definitely among the best looking games so far. Games like Mirrors edge and Dead Space have the edge over this imo as does COD4.

Gameplay wise, I know this will rock...gameplay is so satisfying and well balanced. The stop and pop cover is easily the best ever seen in a third person shooter. Can't wait for this one!

I don't know if you can compare graphics when it's games that aren't third person. Dead Space doesn't look that great and Mirrors Edge, no one really knows what that game will look like

Coming from a person who thought Gears 1 was good but not great, I'm really excited about this sequel.

They are putting a lot into multiplayer, which I thought was Gear's biggest flaw. This video shows that this isn't GoW 1 with new maps.

Some nice improvements although i'm a little disappointed it's only been bumped up to 5v5. I would have expected 6v6 really. I am however concerned about the netcode for this since the original GOW had terrible nedcode that resulted in some poor online games. I'm hoping they've fixed it and put some work towards removing things like the hosts advantage, especially since they've upped the player count a little. Ideally though they'd just give us some dedicated servers and a decent amount of players in a game, 20 player Gears Of War would be awesome.

Anyone who has seen the gameplay video of Mirrors Edge knows exactly what it looks like. Dead Space looks fantastic imo, very much underappreciated (it is EA afterall!). Oh, and Dead Space is 3rd person btw. ;)

more 1 player in each team doesn't make much of a diference. and they don't get paid to maintain dedicated servers up and running for years.

The gameplay video was also 3 minutes long on empty rooftops. I trust a single trailer of a game about as far as I can throw it.

The more players you have the more bandwidth you need. For example if this was using the exact same netcode as GOW1 it would be worse, but i think i read somewhere that they know this and are working to improve it which is good news. Dedicated servers are always a good thing however, and it is frustrating that paying an XBL subscription doesn't go towards such a feature, whereas some PS3 games have dedicated servers for no fee. It would be fantastic for example if they went the route of Resistance and stuck some servers up and gave us some really big battles, especially since they've demonstrated that with this updated version of the Unreal Engine they can handle plenty of player models on-screen at once. I dunno, maybe in GOW3?

Looking good (a bit Gears 1,5 at first, but then you start to notice all the improvements).
Still, I Guess they have a few aces up their sleeves, cause the game won't be released till november and they have to feed the hype. 4 player coop, Halo 3 videos ?
Gears1's framerate was still shacky a few weeks before release, they really have some time to polish the game !

What more do you want to see? That bit what was shown displayed the most beautiful visuals I've yet seen.

Opinions, opinions I guess.

I actually can't believe you think Dead Space looks better than this. Honestly, i'm shocked.

As for this, it's amazing how small additions make a huge difference. Gears 2, from what has been seen so far, hasn't added anything that will revolutionise the genre. Instead, they've tweaked here and there and added a few small additions. However, when all these improvements are brought together, it's astonishing to see how far this game has come compared to the first one.

That's a lesson for a lot of games as well; a game doesn't have to be revolutionary to be a superb game. It's going to be my GOTY, no doubt about that.

There's more to visuals than just "graphics". Just glancing at a game and seeing that it has the same technical aspects as before (although improved) does not determine the visuals of the game and mean that it's going to offer the same experience as it previously did. In other words, it's the scenery, locations, and artistic concepts that they will present within the game that will be the "WOW" factor that really take you places and give you an experience unlike before... There are just certain moments like when you first stepped foot into the underground section in the first GoW and saw the light beaming down and the huge reflective pillars, or when you walked into the greenhouse area in the mansion.

It's just like being a recording engineer... you can't look at an engineer's EQ's and say "That's not impressive, so this song sucks." It's the artistic expression within the SONG ITSELF that fully rounds it out to make or break it.

Right now we're seeing some multiplayer levels. It's not an indicator of how far they're going to take the visuals within the single player experience.

I wish people would stop looking on the surface of a game that they haven't plaid and said "Eh the graphics are so-so." So far we haven't seen artistically what they will present us with as we progress through the single player experience. I know some people don't like the general art direction, but still it's bound to have some of those "Wow... that looks incredible" moments when you're sitting infront of your HD tv playing through the game and exploring.

to tell the truth i am more than happy with 5 vs 5 ....... you keep adding player counts you just take away from the things that make gears fun! 20 players gears would be pure BULL sorry ..... its not that sort of game.
as for the netcode its going to run alot better this time round as the host does no have to run the voice.,,,,,, it works by off loading person to person :)
