After a demo of NCAA Football 09 has been made available yesterday for both Xbox Live Marketplace (XBL) and Playstation Network (PSN), Electronic Arts sends these new images from its game. The official release date is set for July 17 2008.
wow @ people on background. they are like "our team wears purple... we all use a generic purple shirt, we all are clones from 4 people, and we prefer to be made of paper than polygons"

they couldnt be any worse than the sideline players they had last year, that just screamed "short cut".lol.
Anyone notice how the people in the stands are all slanted in some of the pics? I'm sure if you're playing you wouldn't notice them but in screenshots it just looks stupid.

As far as I know it isn't possible to develop a fully 3d modeled invidual crowd this gen without at least a few clones.
After seeing the way they do mass armies in Gears 2 (with much more complicated enviros and crazier shit going on), seems like it should be possible to me

I've seen that video. There is a difference. The enemies in Gears 2 wear the same armor and look the same. For example, if you were to zoom in on their faces or bodies, they wouldn't have individual qualities of the face or body type like an ordinary human would have. What you're asking for is a full 3d crowd in a gigantic football stadium, with individual qualities so they won't look like clones. Wait a few more years for something of that scope.

So?
That still doesn't forgive them for not using 50 types of models or more, to fill 50.000 seats.
The perfect quantity, is when you start to need to pay some attention to spot repetition.

If I were to complain about all the issues, we would be here till tomorow: Jaggies, grass textures... etc.
no thats what people call whining :p
The Crowd just looks... to put it simply, a disgusting one-colored blob.
true it looks horrible but are you going to play the game or watch the game.
because if you just play the game you wouldt even notice it because your concentrating on what is happening on the field.

The point is, each are rendered in 3d with interactive AI so they don't all act in an identical manner. I could care less about them all looking the same.
If that can be as interactive with an environment and be rendered in 3d such bland crowds shouldn't exist

More realistic crowds = more realistic experience
