looks sharp. Nice colors and detailed textures. However, i wonder why SO4 looks so much better. I Get the sense that project is getting a whole lot more attention than this one. Still looking forward to it tho.

Different art styles, this one looks more cell shaded than S04, thats why not as "good" textures. Character models looks very nice.

its not the textures..its just the overall visual fidelity that is just not up to par.

SO4 is probably using Square Enix's new White Engine while this game might not be. At least they didn't use Unreal Engine for this game. UE3 is giving Last Remnant a very dull look and I don't know why SE even used it.

Edit: I still think this game looks rather gorgeous though.

SO4 cannot be using the Crystal tools engine because its been in development since before the engine was even 360 compatible..besides, im shure Square is the only one using the engine, not tri-ace..IU engine is their own

So far, this game has beautiful character designs, immense color, and expansive terrain. Just wondering how the "Situational RPG" mechanic is going to embody this design.

Looks like its just going to get added into back store where Enchanted Arms and Trusty Bells are already festering. Its just not up to par with any game in any category. Too bad Tri-Ace is acting like Atlus...

Overall, this game looks awesome and gladly the unreal 3 engine is not used, I hate that. This will be definitely the next big jrpg which I'm going to play trough (previous was Lost Odyssey). Reminds me of FFXII which is just a good thing :)

Don’t jump to conclusion. We haven’t seen any real gameplay footage from SO4.
IU looks as good as always. Well the screens are a bit small though.

Why are you trying to make this into a PS3 vs. 360 topic? IU seriously isn't doing anything new. At least with FF13 they're trying to create Advent Children style battles in real time. Name one RPG that has pulled something like that off

IU is a "play it safe" game. Nothing new, nothing interesting. Just like the rest of the games you listed (except FF13). It has nothing to do with me not liking JRPGs

Excuse me but talking about FFXIII is not AT ALL trying to make this thread into a xbox360vsPs3 one.

FFXIII is still something "secret" we do not know about... and its the main RPG of Square-Enix, so what the hell are you babling about.

IU is doing something new. It’s merging battescreen and world into one with an SO style of battlesystem. It got this environment with random events. I don’t know of any jRPG doing this before.
But I guess making the battlesystem more “cool” and “stylisch” is more “at least” than this…

IU is playing safe? IU is a new franchise trying to evolve action jRPGs on a platform that is nonexistent in Japan, I would call that a risk…

well the focus as they said at the start was to make this game appeal more to the western customers rater then the Japanese, specially with things such as consequences and things like that.

Grapically I couldn't care less, it looks good I dunno what you guys compare it to, and if the gameplay is just remotly close to example Star Ocean then I'm sold.

The Point... everybody here loves to piss on good jRPGs, cause they are exclusive.
What better way than doing some ol' fashioned control damage, only judging by trailers/screens and calling them, dull, nothing new, bad art, bad graphics, yada yada.
Using what to back-it up? An "exclusive" vaporwarish jRPG that people only saw(brainwashed) CG till now, so many... many times, they frickin' be"lie"ve it actually will look like that.
Keep dreaming, then.

wel sorry but lost oddesy looks much better.
but then again i dont realy like jrpg(exept for pokemon diamond).
i realy dont like it when i cant attack at will or even defend my self.

it gets me so made when i almost dead and the enemy is also almost dead and my attack misses and his does hit.

if that wasnt anymore in jrpg i would love them(art style, story, ludracris attacks)

I understand your point, and I agree. At this point in time I can't say I am excited for the game, and I feel as though I've played it judging at what I see here.

It would seem people are simply more on edge these days to me. In this day of the internet age, some could say there aren't opinions, you either hate it or like it, which is pathetic. And if that isn't true, it certainly seems that way.

I enjoy jRPGs, but as of now this doesn't seem to catch my interest very much, but it is certainly on the radar. Graphically you could say it is impressive, but I would personally wait for a demo.

It is so discouraging to have such hate nowadays. We all know half the people that commonly use the internet (particularly gaming forums) wouldn't dare to abuse hurtful words to someone's face.

Seems like your the one trying to accomplish that, and lets not believe everything we read heh ?

When we see some "ACTUAL" in game footage of FF13 then perhaps we can believe the hype.

Personally I would rather FF13 stick to the tried and tested gameplay of FF10 than screw up a franchise because they want to try something different, FF12 was a pile of crap because they tried something new IMO and i was hoping FF13 would be more like FF10 seeing as it is lead by the same guy.

I think this look pretty nice personally, its not omg amazing visually but who cares JRPGs are about battle systems and story telling not about graphics.
