PS3

Fans can rejoice ! We are now June 12th, 2008 (in Europe at least :p) and Metal Gear Solid 4 is officially available in every good shop of the civilized world. About our traditionnal First 10 Minutes, we offer you the long introduction cut-scene of the game as well as three gameplay clips from the 1st Act. The shorter one showcases some combat in the streets of the Bagdad-like city you start your journey in, the second one a memorable attack of the Frogs - very powerful bionic foes that jump like frogs and walk on the walls - in an abandoned hotel, and finally a moderately discreet sneaking sequence in Liquid's camp. Enjoy !
Update2: All the files are finally online.

I've been playing this game for the past 4 hours and I'm blown away...The game play is a very good but takes a little while to master, especially in close confined spaces. The graphics are the best I've seen so far this gen, the Sound is with doubt the best sound I've ever experienced in a video game. The cut-scenes are well....perfect!

I'm having an absolute blast...my Game of the year!

While it's a nice video, it's also yet another video of someone playing MGS like a shooter. For once I'd just like to see a video of someone playing it like MGS(Sneaking around, stealth tactics) instead of playing it like Gears or Call of Duty 4.

I'm not saying you played bad(You've played a lot better than others), but for once I'd just like to see this segment played with stealth.

I'll try something but honestly the game is much more action oriented than before. And if you don't fight there's not a lot of stuff to do in these early levels, since street war makes it easier to sneak past enemies.

I understand. I heard something about choosing sides in this whole war segment of the game, but I don't know if it effects the outcome of the battle or even the story itself. I was just curious to see if, instead of fighting, someone just simply decided to sneak past the whole battle and become uninvolved with it entirely.

Also, don't take my comment the wrong way. I'm not going to tell you how to play. I was just curious about the stealth aspect and its improvements(other than the camo).

Edit: Do you know if there are collectible dog tags in this game?

I know, don't worry. And I'll try to do this level with a true stealth approach, could be fun.

As for chosing sides, I don't know. It seemed like PMCs were always attacking me so I sticked with the rebels. It could spice things up when replaying the game if you could really switch sides but anyway it has nothing to do with the story, don't expect big things from this.

talk about a glowing endorsement! well the game looks awesome and all..not gonna say the graphics are the best thing around tho, i think Call of Duty 4 is more imressive (i say COD4 because it runs at 60 fps, otherwise id say Gears 2 and Killzone 2) its mainly the very muted colors, and the not very sharp textures, but it definately excels in activity and articulation and is one of the best looking games around. 4 sho

Looks a bit dull to me if I'm honest, maybe it's just the early environments.

Will still try it of course :)

All I'm going to say is that it gets more colorful later on(I've seen pictures). If you think my comment is a spoiler then I'll just delete it.

oh i know it does lol, ive seen pics too, but i mean the color thing isnt all that big a deal, if i cut all the color out of RE5 for example, i would still think the graphical fidelity is higher. but again, im not knocking the games graphics, i think it looks spectacualr, i just dont agree with many people that think its the best looking thing out there, thats all.

I played a little while into act one these graphics on a hd tv are the most amazing sight I think I have seen 2 date, videos don't do it justice but after a while the stealth started getting a little stale for me and this is not an action game. Idk I haven't played mgs in a while but the story is epic and graphics amazing, I love watching the cutscenes but I am playing NG2 at the moment also and sometimes when I get into gameplay areas I have 2 take a break just 2 get some action going in gaiden. I cant wait 2 see how the story unfolds.

when saying that I guess they're including the cinematics, because it's true that MGS4's are the most beautiful realtime cutscenes of this generation.

with that i agree, the cutscenes look fantastic, however, im comparing the gameplay wich u know, look great aswell, but the cutscenes look to be the most important thing in the game. but im not as blown away graphically when im playing the game, as i was when i first played Gears or COD4...
ugh i guess ill just drop it before i get flamed, or called an xbot...

i keep wondering what happened to Meryl,.. i honestly thought she was dead in MGS..lol..silly me

Call of Duty 4 was also on PS3 so I don't know why anyone here would flame you. Although many forget that it even exists on PS3, just like many other multiplatform games.

i love the way japanese devs direct the cut scenes, whether real time or CGI. very professional)hollywood) quality. i've seen very few western devs who can direct and produce cut scenes like this.

dmc4, NG, MGS4, FF and all those RPG's have fantastic , well produced
