An anonymous journalist released two images of Rare's mysterious Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts on an italian forum. Of course we were around and immediatly caught them. Here they are for your enjoyment, and we should have a lot more information coming very soon anyway.

I love RARE! Graphics are really nice! Textures and colours are really nice! Can only look better in motion right?

Why the RARE hating? Kameo was an excellent game I thought! Perfect Dark Zero was also a very solid title! Online was really good! Viva Pinata was also a very good game with excellent graphics!

Tuesday cant come quick enough!
Because everyone expects too much from Rare, just as they do any other major dev this generation

The environments are RARE quality alright, reminds me of DK64 and Conker, ah I love them! I also noticed that the other screenshots contain a very glossy/shiny look that PDZ had. Frankly it fits perfectly in a game like this, I was surprised I didn't get a negative vibe when I saw that.
Also that vehicle seems to be the same thing, transformed from boat to plane to uh tank?

@DavidDC^^ let's not get carried away, it looks quite good, but still a long way off from R&CTOD in terms of visuals, and far from the likes of ratatouille.

i hope the new waggle thingamagig controller works well with the game.

Well first of R&C pictures are doctorated while Banjo's are not, Rare was always known for bad quality pictures, remember Kameo?

It looks alot better then the screens, i was very suprised how muc better it looked then the screens but it was the other way with R&C it looked less impressive than the pictures because it was not as sharp looking as the pictures and of course it wasn't as jaggie free as this pictures are showing, there is tons of AA added on the pictures.

Im not saying that R&C looks bad, far from that imo its one of the most impressive looking game with Uncharted but Banjo isnt looking any worse, trust me as soon as you will see this running on the 360 infront of you your jaw will drop.

no console game looks as smooth as it's published screenshots(especially when it comes to AA), and i can assure you that banjo would not look as smooth as those screenshots. the thing that's so impressive about R&CTOD is the sheer scope of the visuals displayed at any given time with long drawing distances and lots of different activities going on in the background(flying vehicles, creatures, explosions etc), not to mention better textures as well all at 60 fps.

banjo for what it is looks great, but i highly doubt it can come close to sheer size, scale and pixar feel of R&CTOD, but then again it's there to be seen, rare could very well prove me wrong.:D

Im pretty sure that the Banjo screens are downsampled to some degree... Also, just to address, R & C in motion looks as good as the screenshots, Ive played or seen pretty much all good looking games on consoles and pc, and it is one of the best looking games without a doubt, just lacks a strong lighting engine.

Lastly, BK looks great (although not sure about the art), but is nowhere near animated CG...at all...

Wrong it will look better, Rare is not photoshoping their pictures, they are original screen captures and their pictures look always worse as the actual game, just take a look at Kameo and VP pictures, they look way better in motion, less jaggie and crisper and from what i can see Banjo screens are exactly the same captured as for the other two games.

Please be honest, it really doesn't, it's not as clean and it has jaggies, not many but it's not even a bit as smooth and clean as the pictures.

I'm afraid some of them are bullshots, as Quaz51 of Beyond3D fame has confirmed. Most of them are 720p AA 2x -just like R&C-, though, and they look great. What we need right now is some footage from the game. Kameo indeed looked far worse in screenshots than in motion, so if the screens here are a good indication, B-K:N&B is going to be a day one purchase for me.

I dont think rare will let us down in the visual department. And R & C is a completely different art direction than this.

It could look like kameo (which was quite good looking) and I would still get it because its Banjo-Kazooie!

But I do think it will look way better than kameo which had a similiar art direction.

have you got the game...? to honest those screens you posted of R & C dont look that impressive to me after playing the game...regardless of whether it is as clean as those shots, its a very very clean game, and those shots aren't taking from the best looking levels at all...

Also, the game runs at 60 fps, its very smooth

Okay, thats me done talking about R & C, sorry for the OT

but theys point where the devs can't go any further, if you look at the technical side of the competition in their games and look at xbox 360 you can see the difference. at first i thought it was the devs but multiple games are starting to have that same look, even fable 2 almost looks like this
thats not graphics or nextgen machines reaching there limits its artstyles, Banjo is going for that look as is Fable2, of course there will come a time when both will reach there limits or most devs will just pump out similar stuff, but there will still a good few that continue to get more and more out till the consoles untill the end of life, hell the xbox best looking games came near the end of its cycle and the ps2 is putting some of its best looking titles to date out now, so its all down to how much time a dev wants to take plus what an engine can do and how money they wish to pump into it, to which games will look better and better as time goes on.

man, seeing more of the game just put me off it. it looks kinda...dated. really sparse, empty looking environments. very strange looking game, environmentally. graphics are good from a texture, poly count point of view. but the environments look so empty, like an old psone/N64 game.

Why are there people in here with the whole PS3 vs 360 thing again, Ratchet and Clank wasn't that great visually IMO, and nobody can say anything about this game until they've seen it in motion.

We should get video tomorrow so lets see what that brings.

Of course i have the game, it looks and runs awesome, but the pictures look better and i didnt post them someone else did it.

The only thing i dislike in R&C graphics is the not very sharp picture it lacks sharpness compared to games like Uncharted, GT5p... but Rare always has very sharp looking games, i prefer very sharp and crisp looking games with a bit more jaggies over less jaggies and more blury picture.

You realize that a lot of the original team left since the Nintendo 64 days correct?
Wrong. People who worked on Goldeneye left.
Banjo team is still on board.

I agree Ratchet has a blurry filter which doesn't do it any favours.

you just moaned about people bringing R&C into the discussion, and your doing it yourself. so i may as well throw in my thought on it. R&C blows this away visually as is. this game, going from those screenshots just look down right dated. kinda like PDZ was. it may have the tech, just like kameo and every other "nextgen" game RARE have made, but it just feels like they've yet to break away from the N64 development mentality. kinda like how free radical didnt quite break away from it making timesplitters (timesplitters feels very old school in the way it played)

I have to say this looks a bit disappointing graphically. Distant mountains and stuff is really simple looking... I do like that it is colourful. I hope there is demo. I haven't played these kind of games in some time.
