Epic and Microsoft drop the bomb and release the first gameplay video of Gears of War 2. Two minutes of extreme violence and fire, for what appears to be an explosive hyperbole of the first title. Visually, it looks stunning.
It didnt change much you didnt need a different account for both. So you still had people crossing forums to talk crap. Its a shame because good debate gets lost in fanboy goggles. Oh this has 2AA but this has 4AA the face texture has a slightly differnet colour etc etc.
Shame really, but then again competition is good for the market, the more people compete the more quality titles on the systems. So its swings and round abouts.
I'll back the statement of the 476th time- Yea, this looks stellar. The amount of textures on the screen and the color they put with it this time... whoa. Really amazing. I can't think of too many console titles - out now or in the future- that look this incredible. COD4 is up there... so is Uncharted. But aside from those- this is the best looking console franchise I've laid eyes on.

What was it about the Gears2 preview that provoked such strong reactions from so many people? And how did this discussion become so toxic? I mean we've all seen games that we've disliked before, but some of the descriptions I've read are just over-the-top ridiculous.
Some of these posts are so venomous and emotionally charged you would think that people had personal grudges against the developers at Epic.
Bottomline, if you don't like Gears...........you don't have to buy it.

GeOW is the holy grail of the TPS, something like the GT or the GTA of this genre, and this bother too many people because its not on their console and even owners of both platforms because its not on the platform of their preference...

Gears is looking amazingly polished, the framerate is buttersmooth, that's great ! And KZ2 is looking great as well !
Anyway, eventhough this trailer looks great, I don't want the game to look that way, I would miss Gears1's gameplay, this trailer looks way too scripted, CoD4 for me
Dont judge that level or game via that trailer, remember it has been cut and spilced together to show us little snippets of action, i dont think it will be no more scripted than the original, and even if it is more scripted, i think it will only aid us in taking a breather from all the hectic action ;)

The only thing that really bothers me is if they were really showing the gameplay from a 360 console. The framerate was really smooth... if its really a 360 moving all that action with no frame-rate issues, in my opinion they´ve made a big freaking improvement cause I cannot remember a single game in Ps3 or 360 with that graphic quality that hasn´t got ,at one time or another, frame peaks.
I would say the utmost biggest improvements is the quality of the lighting and the environments, which just took down Alan Wake a peg....all of this with that smooth a frame rate and with split-screen is quite frankly ticking all the big boxes.
The character models don't look too improved, but in comparison the sheer amount of them onscreen is a massive leap.

Ah but there is where you are wrong. They won't buy it but other people who don't share their deluded fanboyism will which hurts them on a deep, emotional level.

I wouldn't let this one topic ruin your experience of the whole site, especially in comparasion to Gametrailers or IGN which have dreadful communities. I'm not sure what it is about Gears that's drawn out all the fanboys, but this type of thing isn't common for Gamersyde, and at least mods, are at least attempting to keep things under control.

Well, you're right about the trailer being cut. In fact, GI was really stunned by the "we're getting into the matte painting" aspect of the game, as the whole area is rendered in 3D.
In the trailer, we can't see the derrick's journey, maybe it just spoils the best effect of that level.

I disagree. I don't want grenades as a hotkey in every shooter. Having to switch to frags/smoke/whatever makes their use more deliberate in a way. You can't just grenade spam or throw set grenades when they're a pick-up and you have to actually think to use them.
Very well-put. Gears MP is some of the best MP out there.
And on a side note, I just don't get the haters. They act as if its widely accepted that Gears MP sucks. Yeah right. Gears MP is utter brilliance. The only thing which has come CLOSE to it is COD4, and even my buddies and I have all gone back to Gears AGAIN, just like after Halo 3. Always back to Gears. Gears is fucking AWESOME. Gears MP becomes an ENTIRELY different game once it's mastered and strategies can begin forming. Haters just don't get it. I pity them...
