PS3

I don't really know where this came from, but someone posted this new trailer of Metal Gear Solid 4 on nicovideo.jp earlier today, and as always it's plain awesome.

Just a heads up- No new footage in this trailer.
Just a mix of trailers we already seen.

Dialogue might be new but I don't understand Japanese.

Yet you felt obligated to come here and troll (in a double post even) this game.

I can understand how this game makes you nervous, but we really dont need your bitter tears here. Also, this is ingame/engine cutscenes, not FMV! (lol). So kindly GTFO!

That said, June can't come soon enough. My most anticipated game this gen.

now, i LOVE metal gear solid...but this is starting to look a bit Emo Gear Solid with all the suicide shots. I'll buy this game and it will surely kick ass...but, Snake needs to go out in a blaze of glory...not get depressed and off himself.

Dude, this isn't just the end of Kojima and yoji shinkawa's collaboration, this is like the end of snake's epic story

Don't see MGS4 as a stand alone game, see it as the last part of the epic saga. It all just makes sense, cause we've had moments where snake is shown as a hero, a soldier, a man and probably now in MGS4, we'll see him become a legend just like his father

MGS4 looks bland...... Its all most like if all the gpu processing went to the character modeling and nothing else. I can see why Kojima is disappointed with the gfx but I hope the gameplay make up for that. Its hard to belive kojima and his team is useing the cell processor to the limit.

For any one who don't know what iam talking about this should clear things up
http://kotaku.com/381412/kojima-disappointed-with-...

Any way I hope no one think that iam bashing MGS4 because thats not the case. In matter of fact its the only reason I brought a ps3 just so I could play MGS4. Iam just a little disappointed with the gfx.

Also I hope no one reply back to me calling me a fanboy or a gfx wh*re or any other childish nonsense.

He is dissapointed with the vision in overal he had for MGS4.

All devs have a vision for their games, but it most of the time always change when the game goes thru development time. The concept might be there, but the animation, graphics, sound...etc. all the "candy" for the eyes and ears will change depending how it is made.

I hate it when they say that, nobody knows the limits.

Another thing I hate is...whenever MGS4 thread shows up, it is always about the graphics, which is just sad.

Nobody hardly talks about the story (main factor for MGS), or the gameplay anymore here at Gamersyde, maybe a few but its rare.

Quite sad.

i totally agree, his team did the best they could with cell for the time being, his next game perhaps will be much better optimised, look at resistance 1 and ratchet for e.g, same engine but the latter was more optimised, and i think resistance 2 would be in a league of it own visually.

Kojima's original vision was even greater, it just goes to show the vision the guy has.. He is after all a movie fan and i guess epic is in his blood.

Remember how kojima said, at first they made the game extremely realistic, but tonned it down on purpose because otherwise it didn't fit into the metal gear universe.

Whatever the case, everyone knows kojima and his team will deliver an amazing game, isn't that what really matters?

Just look at the track record, with every MGS game, they got better, MGS3 is one of the finest games in the series

Bloody hell, they had to shut down the beta for MGO online because of the demand, and that ain't even what MGS is famous for. This game is like halo is to xbox360

and in a way Sath, i prefer people babbling on about graphics than the story of gameplay, last thing i want is some doofus to speculate some plotline that might be a major twist and ignore the experience for me. Apart from the TGS trailer, i've avoided all trailers..i did the same for MGS3 and i didn't expect any of the surprises, it was worth it

thats a nice way of putting it :D

i agree with sath. Graphies need to just chill. MGS was never about cutting edge...though they tapped it with MGS2. Graphics dont produce enormous fandom, and dont make me want to replay the game. Storyline and gameplay make it! i still play FF7 from time to time. it looks like garbage compared to anything from three years ago...but why? it just kicked ass. the most beautiful game in the world will get me a play through...but great story and gameplay will keep me coming back for more.

Splicer it is better to talk about the story with speculations and all, it is up to you if you care what the other people say about it, if you want to believe it or not, atleast we dont' call each other fanboys and other insults and become enemies over graphics in a game.

I rather talk about what to expect from MGS4, what is gonna happen, where the series the fans like it to go, what have happened in the past, what to improve about the story...same thing goes with the gameplay.

Graphics are just there to show it all off, we are never gonna be satistfied with graphics no matter how good it looks, we always find something to complain.

To some no, graphics is everything to judge a game for, gameplay comes second were people suddenly say "it brings nothing new" or the classic stupid term "generic".

MGS4 is the only game I will try to avoid any storywise videos, I usually read peoples comments before I watch it, maybe some friendly person says "spoiler!", then I know its not for me to watch.

Is it still possible to run through the game playing it like a shooter? At the very beginning Kojima said it could be played like that. As a Metal Gear Solid fan I hate this decision. And the last gameplay videos looked mediocre at best. I like the dramaturgy, but I'm concerned about the gameplay.
Well, yeah, everybody can see that the graphics are not convincing. The style is cleverly chosen, but they cannot hide the fact they chose bald environments to gain more processing power for the characters.

You can play the game over the shoulder, regular third person and first person.

But I think they added the first person for more accuracy shooting.
I doubt you be able to play the entire game in first person, not that you wont be able to, just that it will be so hard.

As for shootingy our way through the game, I guess you can do that, but it needs stealth like wall cover and waiting as well in some scenarios.

But I guess it's up to the player really.
I for one will take my time, go into camoflauge alot, wait, go for stealth attacks...etc. and start shooting when I feel I am discovered, which I know I will be, alot, or just want some heated action :D

I deliberately didn't post on the latest MGS-topics because of the people who post nonsense about the game and have absolutely no clue what MGS is about. But here I am again....posting...*sigh*.

Anyway I can't wait for this game. It's going to be great for the fans. As for the people who just tuned in at the MGS-Universe, ..go play or read about other parts of the series before you play this, because you can't simply enjoy this game as it's ment if you are not into the story.

Oh and this game is not ment for first-person it's just an option put there for the people who really really like first person (it's still different from the original first person view). MGS is 90 percent story-driven with a bit of gameplay that's geniously put together in a realistic yet funny way.
