Page 1 2 >>So is GDC really that crappy? Not any big news really is there, only thing worth viewing was the Fable 2 vids and pics, other then that, one big "meh".
Oh and before people saying blah blah blah, my opinion, kthnx.
Very great looking engine for sure, but I want to see/hear more about the story, about the actual game itself, not the engine.

It a game DEVELOPERS conference. Not another E3 or something similar to that. The conference i primarily about making games, not about advertising and showing off new titles.

Then why open it to the media???
Again, engine looks nice. But it's the same with Crysis. They can make these games as pretty as they want, but maybe the game would actually sell if they made something that was actually worth playing, rather than just looking at?
Because believe it or not there are some people in the world that can't be at GDC and enjoy reading and seeing coverage of it. It's not that hard to understand.

I like to see any type of video that involves my must buy games, and so far I have seen 3...Too Human, Fable 2 and Ninja Gaiden 2.
But this is GDC; some people make it seem its E3 or TGS, do not expect much.
I still want to see Project Offset, even if its a engine show off, just shows how long they have come with the engine itself.
I think Ubi is gonna make Far Cry 2 like Crysis, show off the engine alot of what it can do...etc.
I know, the setting and concept of the game doesn't allow for much exciting environments but who in their right mind creates a game that takes place in the open fields of Africa?! What's next...the desert with nothing but rocks and dust? Come on, a little imagination can't hurt!
Yawnfest, a guy standing around in a field blowing off peices of tree with a pistol, nothing we haven't seen already.
cmon, this is a developers conference, so why is it so strange to see an engine showing off?
and "yawnfest"? this looks quite impressive, dynamic weather, shooting pieces of trees of, trees reacting realistically to the wind? Quite cool and not so boring i must say.
I we got to see some bad ass Ninja Gaiden II footage, play free XNA games, got a peek at the technology that will probably be in Gears of War 2 and they finally announced it, GDC reminded me about Castle Crashers, I am 10X more excited about Fable 2, and Too Human actually looks pretty good now.
Anyways.... Farcry 2 looks awesome.
I wish ghost recon could go back to big outdoor environments like this.
It looks like its pretty good tech.
also why do the branches "leap" from the tree?

the growing tree at the end is kind of crazy...are you really ever going to play for long enough to see a tree grow? perhaps its some kind of feature hint.

i liked the video, it looks good. but i wish it wasnt all just about shooting, i would love for this game to be a survial/shooter. like hunt animals and make fires and climb mountains...just to add something differant to all the shooting...because this setting has good potential for these elements
otherwise its very much like alot of games ive already played.
nice graphics though
