Activision has announced Viligante 8: Arcade for Xbox Live Arcade, developed by Isopod Labs and planned to be released this spring. The game is a remake of the classic, featuring 8 player online modes and lots of new content. This seems to be Isopod Labs first project, so hopefully they'll do it good! First images inside.

Someone must have overheard me a few weeks back as I was playing this classic on the n64 and was wishing someone would make another car combat game for the 360 as they're isnt enough of them these days.
Any idea if it is just a remake or if theyre adding anything else like extra maps?

* Multiple collectible power-ups and ‘salvage points’

As for V8, glad to see it back. I love the hell out of the Twisted Metal series, but V8 was always a much better experience - even if it was never quite as famous. Now all the V8 love is back, but in a $10 package.
Only makes you wonder, if you can get V8 for a measly $10, why pay $60 for the new Twisted Metal? Perhaps EatSleepPlay are making the new TM game as a $10 PSN title. I mean honestly, knowing I can get V8 for $10 has really put the damper on my picking up TM for $60. This is great news, indeed.
