As the two demos are now available on Sony and Microsoft's online platforms, here comes a short clip that tries to compare side by side the 360 (left) and PS3 (right) versions of Burnout Paradise, in 60 frames per second.
Update: Added a second comparison video by Dot50cal.
Update 2: Third and last video, again by Dot50cal, showing some slight slowdowns with the 360 version.

Looks like they have a different skybox for the 360 demo. And this is where my interest in this game ends.
eitherway, this definately shows its better to develop on PS3 and port to 360 than vice versa
Higher range = higher contrast between the dark and light areas in the scene.
360 simply has a wider range when it comes to HDR lighting. A benefit of the hardware implementation of the EDRAM. PS3 uses pixel shader methods instead, the result is a softer image with less contrast.

If it was cheaper to do on PS3 first, then that would be better for devs.

the game controls awesome, has great graphics, but the free world stuff just sucks. i hated starting events and not having a set path to go and having to look at this map in the corner mid-race to figure out which route to take.
thanks EA for running another series to the crapper.
The 360 version drops frames fairly often, not a whole lot, but it's like little hitches, I've only seen the PS3 version do this once or twice with a lot of cars on the screen (in a race).
360 version has better colors on my TV. My PS3 is hooked via HDMI and my 360 is through component, so that might be it. 360 has custom soundtracks, and while PS3 might get that feature some day, it doesn't for now. I like how the 360 does shadow mapping better.
People should check out Flatout UC if they don't like this new Burnout, that game is so great, and people just ignore it most of the time.
Anyways, I'm going to check out the video now and see if it helps me any more.
I like these comparisons, not because I want to hear "IN YOUR EFFIN FACE 360/PS3 OWNER!", but because I want to see if devs manage to make the game look the same on different hardware.

BTW anyone who knows anything about this game would know it was lead on PS3 and ported to Xbox 360 so its going to look the same except for some lighting. If it was lead on Xbox 360 and ported to PS3 then there might but lighting/framerate differences.
However with the PS3 software sales being considerably worse than the 360 I don't think many developers are going to see this route as the best one to take. Criterion have always favoured Sony platforms.
Besides, most games let you play around with the gamma, so if the PS3 looks a bit lighter, just bring the gamma down a few notches and it will get a bit more darker and not washed out.
I do that with most of my games on 360 and PS3, unless there i nothing wrong with the default.
Besides, how are you suppose to enjoy the small details if its dark. Sharper looking yes, but won't see the small details put into the model.
Ah well, its all personal preference.

I wouldn't rely on the fact of it being a PS3 -> 360 port to say they're going to be identical...
Criterion has raped this once so awesome FRANCHISE. Come on I dont wanna roam this boring PARADISE CITY looking for challenges. THESE DEVS SHOULD PAY BETTER ATTENTION AND PLAY SOME GAMES BEFORE THEY MAKE ANY FUNDAMENTAL CHANGES TO THE GAME. All they had to do is look at what happened to NFS. Most Wanted being the best of the series!
THE KEY TO THE BURNOUT SERIES HAS ALWAYS BEEN: CRASHES, FUN & EASY TO PICK UP AND PLAY!
They turned BURNOUT PARADISE into a chore!
I am passing and getting PGR4 instead!

Delaying a game just because development on another platform can't hold up is a bad thing (which this basically comes down to).
it's likr burnout crossed with crackdown, I guess it will just take some time to get used to. my first impression is that I hate it though :(
