We have a little bit of an exclusive here for you, thanks to the XCN, shared with a few other sites - Microsoft will be offering European gamers a free gaming weekend this month for silver members, as well as a ton of fun for the all kind of Xbox Live subscribers. See more inside!

The Xbox Live Xtival ’07 takes place from 23-26 November 2007.

During this time Xbox Live Gold membership will be free to everyone.

To take part all you need to do is plug in your Xbox 360 to a broadband connection and sign in.

There will be a full line-up of Xbox Live events, competitions and exclusive downloads to enjoy.

Xtival ’07 is only taking place in European countries with Xbox Live.
So, now there's no more reason to complain about the price, at least for one weekend! So we hope to see you all Xbox 360 owners online this weekend, I know I'll enjoy all the crazyness that will happen.

ah well, free whatever, I will be busy with 2 offline games anyways, ME and AC.

I already pay for gold even though i hardly play online at all so yeah...not a big whoop for me. But it's still a nice gesture from MS.

All done to lure more people into the XBL nickle&diming pit.. They want to sell Gold memberships, so this offer is for silver members only.. Gold members get nothing special..

If they want to make me happy, maybe they could annouce that all gamerpics and theme's will be free from now on.. That would be a start..

This doesn't make up for every other time European 360 owners have been screwed out of similar deals imho.

Ridiculous that they can only do deals for certain regions, whats the bloody point at the end of the day.

I think that policy is about to change as Microsoft takes it's focus out of Japan and directs it towards Europe.

Give them a chance, they may make good on some of these promises
