PS3

Finally, the now famous Nissan Skyline GT-R 2009 has been unveiled in the demo of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, and its cockpit view is now playable. And if you don't believe me, just take a look at DjMizuhara's video!

The car's a beast on the track, and the brakes are amazing. I just wish they didn't change the chassis so dramatically. It's not that bad of a looker, though. I couldn't resist taking some pics myself:

Yeah, all in-engine...pretty sweet huh. I hope that other manufactures unveil their new cars via GT5.

The BBC Top Gear will deal is gonna be amazing...

The new WRX is now unlocked too. But why are some of you more concerned with the sheets than the cars?

"The BBC has also given the go-ahead for the famous test-track from the show to be replicated in Gran Turismo 5"
That's cool.

Everything look great. But what about the sound of the tires?!?! Did they even take time to listen how a real cars sounds on track. I swear its the same damn sound as in the first GT on PS1. Its just irretating as hell and ruins the illusion of driving a somewhat "real" car.

I think you can turn down the tire effects in the option menu, but I don't understand Japanese. I know FM2 let you do that.

Because the physics for that sheet was seriously nice, its good to see these features in games.

Great looks, but the gameplay is still far from "real driving simulator" :l AI seems to be lacking, they really give in too easily.

I love the sheet trick. Both Havok and Ageia offer that and had it in their PC demos some years ago. It can also be used to simulate water surfaces and flowing water.

Having just played a certain other game I cant get over how crappy the engine and sound effects are and how bland the scenery looks. Which begs the question why create these trivial visual effects when youre sorely lacking in such obvious places.

Also the cockpits, while theyre surely great and probably the best yet, when we finally get to see them I start to realize how underrated the same efforts in other games have been because of the phantom and promise of this overhyped title. Just picking up a rather unwanted game like Test Drive Unlimited, many of the sports car cockpits are SUPERB in that game complete with the look-behind view. You can customize the interior to your colors etc. Oh well...

The only thing I hate, is that missing AA...its very clear when your playing the game.
But I try to forget it :P the in-car view is so nize, I love it! GT5 is going the right way!

I really like the cockpits in this one. Props go to polyphony for making the tachs "highly" visible while driving. I only wished that was the case for the in-cockpit view in PGR4. Can't play PGR4 at night w/ the sound up. Sound off and I don't know when to up/downshift while in-cockpit. =T unless of course there's a way to turn on tach hud in-cockpit I don't know of.
