Far Cry New Dawn images and trailer

While waiting for a high quality version of the trailer, here are a few images of Far Cry New Dawn. Just like Primal (but this time much more official and visible), New Dawn inherits the basic map from its predecessor but changes its content completely since it's now a post nuclear world, and a quite colorful one at that.
Update: Added the trailer.

LOS ANGELES — December 6, 2018 — Today at The Game Awards, Ubisoft unveiled Far Cry® New Dawn, the newest installment of the award-winning Far Cry franchise. Set in a breathtaking post-apocalyptic world, Far Cry New Dawn will release on February 15, 2019 for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X and Windows PC. Players can pre-order Far Cry New Dawn now for $39.99.

Set seventeen years after a global nuclear catastrophe, Far Cry New Dawn brings players into a wildly beautiful and radically transformed Hope County, Montana. Life has begun to emerge from the chaos, but the survivors now face a new threat – the merciless Highwaymen and their leaders The Twins, Mickey and Lou. Raised in a lawless frontier, the twin sisters and their band of scavengers live only for today and have descended upon Hope County to take all available resources. To push back this devastating threat, players must help the Survivors grow stronger, craft a makeshift arsenal and form unexpected alliances to fight for survival in a dangerous new frontier.

At the Homebase, players will prepare to face off against the threat of the Highwaymen. The Homebase, called Prosperity, is the stronghold of the Survivors. Here, players can craft makeshift weapons and vehicles and train their Guns for Hire – including new and familiar faces. As players progress, they can upgrade the Homebase for more powerful weapons and gear. The Homebase is also a launchpad to Expeditions, where for the first time in Far Cry, the adventure is more than local. Set in memorable locations across the US, from wetlands to canyons and more, Expeditions drop players into unique locations where they must grab a package of valuable materials and get out, quickly.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal with support from Ubisoft Shanghai, Ubisoft Kiev and Ubisoft Bucharest, Far Cry New Dawn is a first-person shooter set in a completely open world. The standalone sequel to Far Cry® 5, Far Cry New Dawn thrusts players into a brilliant post-apocalyptic setting where they will encounter a dual threat – The Twins, Mickey and Lou. Players can recruit an eclectic cast of Guns and Fangs for Hire, or a Friend for Hire for co-op play, to experience unpredictable, unforgettable Far Cry Moments where anything can happen.

Yeah, but also a Mad Max and Fallout vibe as well. I just hope the story is 1 million times better than Far Cry 5's was. Still, the TGA trailer got me interested in the concept. Loving that chainsaw crossbow look.

It's really nice seeing all these games like FC-ND and Obsidian's The Outer Worlds - which looks like a mixture of Fallout + BioShock - tackling the Fallout formula/style now that Bethesda fucked the franchise beyond oblivion.

In Obsidian's The Outer Worlds case, it's even more like a Fallout spiritual sucessor with the original Fallout games developers and the bigger emphasis on Humor.

Hopefully, other studios will tackle The Elder Scrolls formula as well, because almost no one trusts Bethesda anymore, not even the most die hard fans. When a developer drops the ball, other developers will surely pick it up.

Ubisoft has more than 10.000 developers, if I'm not mistaken. Plus they re-use assets a lot - like the church building in the first image with the game's logo.

Since it will be using most of the same animations, similar character models, vehicles' physics, etc, it's not that hard to see how they can pump it out this fast.

Also, given Far Cry 5's ending and New Dawn's concept, it's very likely that Ubisoft planned to do this game all along, so FC-ND probably was developed concurrently with Far Cry 5.

Either way, if there's one company in the entire world that can release a full game this quickly, it's Ubisoft. That meme that they pump out games like a factory has a little bit of truth to it.

There's been many articles about how their multiple studios around the globe work extremely well and efficiently together, something that almost no other developer can pull it off that well. That's Ubisoft's biggest strength, they just make it work somehow.

I just hope they have put enough time to make and all this to be planned right when they decided to make FC5. not since FC5 sold a lot in 2018

Amen to that. I really hope New Dawn is actually like the name, a New Dawn for the series as I personally hated Far Cry 5 so much that I left it at around 40% completion, just finishing the main campaign and a few side quests.

I almost always 100% Ubisoft games like Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs and Far Cry - I ven did it eventually with Far Cry Primal, a game I had many issues with.

But I just couldn't take FC5 anymore, so I focused on finishing the story and even that was so incredibly bad. Maybe New Dawn makes playing FC5 worth it, though New Dawn will need to be one of the best FPS of all time to achieve that feat...

This "colourful" post apolapyptic theme (let alone post-apocalyptic in any form) seems a bit 'done' by now.
Doesn't Rage 2 spring to mind, too, watching the screenshots?

Couldn't be less interested even if you paid me.

It's a fucking reskin of the previous 4 games. Climb a tower, unlock the map, free a stronghold. Rinse repeat. But, ohh, pretty pink flowers. No doubt it'll have about 10 different editions each with their own spreadsheet to tell you what you're getting, pre order bonuses and microtransactions. Seriously, it's not a case of feeding us the same dead carcass over and over. They're clubbing us over the head with it, and I'm just numb to it now.

looks more-less the same content. still waiting for a splinter cell game. a hub-world open world splinter cell game would be amazing.

I mean, nothing is close to the awfulness of EA, but i see where you coming with that. I rarely finish open world Ubi's games. Almost 90% of the time lose interest half-way through. I miss games llike Rayman that i can finish in few sittings without getting bored even for a minute.
Last gen people complained about 7-10 hours single player games ''its too damn short - no day 1 buy''. Now get all that open world bloat with half-assed rpg elements in every.single.game.

Check list gameplay Ubi are the masters of it - People think they are getting value for money with these 60 hour mediocre games however they used to be 10-12 hour great games. Not to mention how incredible Rainbow and Ghost Recon games used to be online. The new titles cannot hold a candle to older Ubi games.

tbh i dont understand you. in my opinion FC5 have best gameplay in the series. i re-completed fc3 and fc4 month before fc5, so i have kinda close look to this aspect of the series.
