Hmm looks ok but not great, FC4's world is technically a lot more impressive on PC IMO.

Far Cry 4 has better trees and foliage for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if this game is much bigger and also runs much better. So there's that.

Just Cause 3 looks very good, and while the overall visuals aren't the best, the visual effects like smoke, fire and etc look amazing. Plus if it's anything like Just Cause 2, it will be insanely fun!

FC4 might look better--at times...but overall i think this looks much more impressive. From a distance, the landscapes look very good, and that is one of FC4s weakest areas. The pop-in, and geometry LOD--as well as tree LOD--in FC4 really hurts the overall impressiveness.

JC3 on PC will surely stomp all other open world games graphically, and still maintain probably the largest explorable area to date, just like JC2 did.

Absolutely.
Far Cry 4 is geared towards "screenshot marketing", the LOD switches are horrible in the game.
Just Cause 3 will certainly be better at that.

Yep I would imagine performance would be better, especially on average PC specs.

Yes, those explosions look amazing. For a game that shouldn't be taken seriously I kind of don't mind if there are some poor spots here or there when the big focus as put to the chaotic aspects like particle effects or explosions. Not much time to look at how flat the ground textures look when i'm jumping out of an airplane riding a propane tank 1000 feet in the air with my grappling hook, looking back at said plane exploding behind me.

I would say the screens range from gorgeous (explosion scenes & DOF scenes) to merely average (most everything else). One thing they always nail with these games is the art style, and the smooth gameplay. The game is bright and colorful, the action is fast and entertaining. Just Cause 2 was just plain fun.

I've really been looking forward to this since I stopped playing JC2, but I would love to hear more about what they have changed/improved. Honestly, just going by the screens and the vid leaked a few weeks back, it looks almost identical to JC2 with the same character, similar environment, similar vehicles, only with a bump in resolution. Since the story and VO on these games is forgettable, I was really hoping for something really exciting like a Red Faction destruction system or something that would actually change the gameplay. As much as I loved 2, I can't see putting 50 hours into a prettier version of it with a slight change of scenery.

why is no one comparing just cause 2 on the PC with this, i know its old but the FC4 vs is a bit far fetched.

Shouldn't games be compared to their contemporaries?

the other just cause games are completely bonkers compared to far cry 4, rather than just focusing on graphics wouldn't it make more sense to compare to games of a similar nature ie the saints row franchise!

there is more to games than graphics alone, why is 30 fps a bad thing, people need to stop this obsession with 60 fps, is game play an after thought these days!

These screens probably arent representing what will be released. I imagine some of the trees and whatnot are placeholder.

Just Cause 2 was a very good looking game for its size, and chaotic gameplay. They actually had many awesome graphical effects settings you could play with. One that even rendered fully 3d waves in the ocean--all on the PC version of course. So i imagine that this game will have all the bells and whistles a top end PC can manage.

Some of the mods the modding community came up with were awesome.

Oh, and i cant believe nobody has said anything about this yet:

MULTIPLAYER!!!

That was another thing the modding community slapped together that worked pretty well for a mod--free roam 16 player online. The servers only ever opened a few times on weekends, but the one time i played, i had fun.

A brand new JC game designed with multiplayer in mind from the start, will surely deliver an open world experience worthy of peoples attention.

Shit, 64 player ''chaos'' mode **wipes drool**...god dammit i cant wait to get some multi-player info/gameplay footage.

One of the things I liked in JC2 is that the missions aren't frustrating like some of the missions in GTAV.
