Video PC PS4 Xbox One Wii U Xbox 360 PS3

Ubisoft just sent us this commented gameplay video of Watch_Dogs, in 1080p resolution and 14 minutes long. That's the kind of stuff I like to receive :)

They're REALLY making it difficult for me to keep my pre-order. Man was that a whole heap of boring shite we've already seen. Seriously, do they have an actual game under all this ambient side activity crap? Or is this it?

I like the multiplayer mixing into the single player campaign.

Hmm pity they didn't send through a higher bitrate version. Around 900mbs for a 14 minute 1080p video says it all. At least they sent it as an mp4 for once and not a stupid mov file that has to be reprocessed as mp4.
@KORNdog Well we know there is, I mean that E3 gameplay during the Sony conference was definitely a main story mission. Maybe they actually don't want to spoil any of the main missions.

That compound you have to enter, wasn't that featured on the last gameplay vid Ubi released?

I thought it was one of the better videos they've shown of it. Although visually its balancing on that line between looking current and next gen (lighting and world textures look decent enough populated by current gen looking character models). The framerate doesn't look solid at all though..and that's abit worrying when odds are that was the ps4 build.

So I guess when you invade another persons game it only looks like you're wearing different character skins to that player?

I, like others, am also concerned with the quality. To me, it looks like a end of generation PS3 game. It looks great for this generation, but not good... even for early next. The shadows have no detail, there's a bunch of aliasing, a bunch of pop in and the texture quality is low and flat.

There is no excuse, as the PS4 should have the quality of a high setting on the PC. Not Max, but a notch or two down from it. Which would definitely allow for better texture quality, less pop in, little to no aliasing and a hell of a lot better shadowing and lighting. Half of the objects in the world weren't casting shadows when they should've been. The shadows that were cast, were soft and low on detail. Definitely prerendered and not real time. The same goes for the lighting.

It also didn't look to be running in a native 1080p resolution.

The gameplay looks good enough, though like others I'm a bit worried we haven't seen more variety. All that we have seen is the same scenario over and over again.

Someone who I know who played this at E3, said I have nothing to worry about. He played it running on a PS4 and it looked phenomenal, unlike anything we have ever seen throughout this current generation. Said the lighting, shadowing and weather effects were jaw-dropping. Though, I suggest that Ubisoft start releasing high-resolution videos showing the game running on a next GEN system, otherwise people are going to view these videos as the final release quality and start canceling preorders.

We are only two months away from the next generation, it is time to start seeing games running on these next gen systems and stop BSing the public with $3000 PC videos.

why is it so hard for ubisoft to make exciting trailers for this game? it has so many elements on paper that make it sound like a great game yet i never see anything much that impresses or makes me think now that is a game i cannot wait to play. it is so bizarre how they keep messing up the hype for this game.

I'm a bit bummed that much of this has been shown before, but minor graphical niggles aside, I still think it looks like a very, very good game. Maybe great. There is sooo much there, and it really is looking unique. Hopefully it's an old build and they can at least steady the framerate.

Even if they don't, I still want it. Looks awesome to me...

AC was never about the open world outside of missions. That game is all about following the story and missions and occasionally dawdling in the world. Far Cry 3 is a hell of a lot of fun in the open world.

Maybe you should just see if it reviews well and play it yourself? Watching someone walk through a game is rarely all that great, but at least they are showing off the game being played instead of just putting out bullshit trailers cut and rigged to look awesome and dramatic.

Even though they haven't revealed much of anything about the game's story, we know there is one. That tattooed girl in one of their trailers reveals this. I pre ordered this because..well, it's a launch title. Can't be too choosey. lol

I'd rather play the game itself than see a lot of it in trailers. I've seen enough of it to make it a purchase. People's expectations with games nowadays are just too high IMO.

I think they're too low. That's why Ubisoft keeps getting away with releasing such crap.

Gone are the days when you had to put up with any old crap to make the most of a new console. These games are gonna be competing against the big hitters of bf, cod, fifa's ect as well as exclusives that can compete through the novelty of being on new hardware.

A game like this has to have something going for it, especially when you know they have every intention to milk it throughout the next generation should it sell decent enough. So far in gameplay terms I've not really seen anything that screams "must buy".. just a combination of AC's multiplayer and eve's dropping missions, with SC's gunplay. And a world full of button prompts and framerate drops.

I don't wanna be too down on it as I still would like to play it but its not really showing the potential I thought it had when it was first announced. Hopefully the invading another players game will result in just more than you trying to steal their money but actually have them effect and hinder missions.

Tell you something though, Ubi are lucky that GTA5 isn't hitting next gen any time soon as this would likely get overlooked. As it is I think this will likely sell more on current gen than next

They've already said next gen preorders for watchdogs are higher then current. I think for a lot of people it was (for whatever reason, still is) the reason to go next gen at all. That reveal sold a damn lot of people, not only on the game but next gen itself. Where some are blind to the downgrades, some people arn't. I think either a ton of people will be pleasantly surprised, or a ton of people will be massively disappointed.

You made me laugh dude.

But tbh GTA bores the shit out of me, it's ok for 12-15 year olds i guess.

I just like a decent single or co-op main story and if no decent mp then it's sold.

Why are they showing freaking old stuff? I remember seeing exactly this way before E3, than during E3 this again and also at GC. Jesus Ubi, show something else. Nah man, i remain very sceptical about this one.

The LOD transitions in this when riding a vehicle is horrendous. I'm guessing this is finally running on a PS4 and not some super high end PC anymore.
