As promised, here are a bunch of videos of Max Payne 3 captured with a retail version of the game. Though the tiny crosshair does not always make it easy to aim (more than once we found ourselves looking for it on the screen), playing this third installment in the franchise is a lot of fun. Max is still Max, which means he comes with some serious baggage and he kills a lot of bad guys. There is a slight change in terms of atmosphere but the story is as dark as ever. A very good action game in the end, but we were surprised to see so many cutscenes, as we're not sure the hardcore fans will enjoy having to sit and watch quite regularly, instead of simply playing.
@droezelke: Yeah that's true too.. I mean in general I'm fine with grouping everything into "8th gen" but it's definitely not a clear boundary anymore.. and I guess it never was on PC. (5 minutes ago)
@GriftGFX: And the question is: what generation? PS4? Xbox1? PC? Switch...... (11 minutes ago)
Even accounting for personal taste and genre preferences, etc. (13 minutes ago)
Game of the generation is kinda a hyperbolic thing to say about any game. It's tough for me to think of anything that really stands head and shoulders above every other game. (14 minutes ago)
Probably also comes down to what settings and styles you like. I love the Wild West so it appealed to me greatly (24 minutes ago)
@MikeManiac61: funny you mention RDR b/c I was playing that in 4K before GoW and was reminded how great it is (25 minutes ago)
As a boring, overhyped, western wasteland with very little to do, other than skinning animals and playing poker. (36 minutes ago)
