GSY Review : CSL Elite for PS4

While the Xbox One was already granted its own Fanatec steering wheel in 2015, Playstation 4 owners had to wait one more year to have a taste at a higher-end wheel. Since 2016, the German manufacturer has finally proposed a version of the CSL Elite which is officially compatible with Sony's console. For our first full-written review of 2017, we have decided to give you our detailed impressions on this (quite expensive) piece of hardware, with a bunch of off-screen videos showing the wheel in action and even a fully translated video review. Because it's a first on Gamersyde, we would love to hear what you think about this kind of article so we know if this review was well worth the efforts we've put into it. Enjoy!
Note: Many thanks to Tiz, who helped me make sure the translation was solid enough to share it with you.

4K lossless capture now stable

Now that we can record compressed 4K/HDR videos with our newly aquired Shogun Inferno, we had to make sure lossless capture would finally be possible with Amarec. We installed a faster SSD and it did the trick, as proven by the following videos. To show you that Gamersyde is now perfectly ready to reach new horizons, what better games than Forza Horizon 3 running at 60 fps on PC (ultra settings but no MSAA) and Horizon: Zero Dawn running at 30 fps on PS4 Pro.
Update: We've just added a video of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
Update 2: A small taste of Alan Wake in 4K.

The first expansion for Forza Horizon 3 is finally available on PC and Xbox One, Blizzard Mountain adds a new map and new terrain surfaces, going from thick snow to ice. Here is a PC video to start, more are coming tomorrow.
Note: frame drops are mainly caused by the capture.
Update: Added 5 PC videos in 1080p60.

Our videos of Forza Horizon 3

After BlimBlim's coverage of the preview build of Forza Horizon 3, it is time for you to discover the final version in action. Since the game is now available in most countries, we have decided to share our direct feed footage with no commentary to do real justice to Playground Games' work. The following videos were recorded on our original Xbox One and on our i7 6700k equipped with a GTX 1080. They will take you on an aerial stroll through the wilderness of Australia, but also features a few races (including 2 tracks raced in radically different cars). As you'll see, driving off-road with a super car is definitely tricky when all assists are off.
Update: 2 PC videos added.

Forza Horizon 3 with proper drivers

The promise of new drivers is always something to hold on to when a game does not perform as well as it should, and the release this afternoon of Nvidia's latest ones has proved us right. While we were experiencing quite severe stuttering issues this morning, even at 1080p, our time on the game with the new drivers has been 99% smooth with DSR 1440p. The (minor) drops are now really rare, and they have no negative impact on the experience. We can now say we are relieved for all those who are eargerly waiting for the PC version to unlock on Friday (Ultimate Edition only obviously). If you need proof, simply check out the video inside.
Note: Let us remind everyone that 60 fps racing games don't look very good in streamed videos, even when using our stream, which is way better than YouTube. That's why we advise you to take the time to download the file.

Forza Horizon 3 on PC - DSR4K/60fps

We have finally been able to download and play the PC version of Forza Horizon 3, and here is the result of our session with the game running on ultra settings at 4K (thanks to Nvidia's DSR). It is important to stress that the following commented video was recorded this morning, and that the latest Nvidia drivers were not available. The warning message from the game saying that our PC was not up-to-date might explain the slowdowns we have seen at 1080p. In the following video, you'll also see a few drops, but it's not too bad considering the resolution. Pop-in remains a bit of an issue too on PC, especially in the forest, as shown in the last part of our footage. We doubt 4k will run at a steady 60 fps frame-rate after installing the drivers, but they should definitely help improve the overall experience. Enjoy the video!
Rig used: i7 6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 Go RAM (DDR4), Windows 10, Nvidia GTX 1080 Founder's Edition MSI

GSY LIVE | PC, Xbox One Tuesday, September 20, 2016 | 11:40 PM
Join us in Australia tonight

On friday, those who purchased the ultimate edition of Forza Horizon 3 will finally be able to play the game a few days before the others. Because we were authorized to start playing before you guys, we will be live tonight at 8:45 CEST for about 45 minutes. If there is anything you want to see or ask, be there on time.
Update: Replays are up. Remember that we haven't been able to play much since Saturday, so we don't have all the answers. Aside from the little info we gave on the game's content, you can enjoy the good IQ of the livestream.
