A year after its debut on Steam Early Access, the survival adventure game Kona from Parabole is available since Friday on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. As Dectective Carl Faubert, you explore a frigid '70s Northern Canadian environment and investigate the unsettling quietness of the rural town. Screens and launch trailer inside.
Tonight, we are taking you on a journey which will include two stops. The first one will be at the other end of the universe in the hostile world of The Solus Project, while the second will have us face the harsh cold of the Canadian blizzard in Kona. Both games share a taste for exploration and storytelling and mix survival mechanics, which is exactly why we thought covering them together made perfect sense. If you are the adventurer type, then join us at around 10:15 p.m. CET.
Update: Replaay is up, be curious!
These days, several games available in Early Access have drawn our attention since they focus their attention on exploration and adventure, adding a bit of survival mechanics to the mix to make it even more interesting. After The Solus Project which we strongly recommend, here comes Kona, a title which will take you in the middle of a snowstorm in an isolated village from Quebec. Hired by a rich industrialist whose property has been vandalized, Carl Faubert is about to find himself lost in what seems to be an abandoned place. All the inhabitants apparently vanished, including his client, and his job is now to understand what happened to all of them. We have prepared three gameplay videos but should be back with more as we are thinking of livestreaming the game later this week.
Note: We remind you that the build shown here is not final as the game is still in development.
Parabole has announced pre-orders are opened for Kona, their mystery-adventure game and it gives you access to the beta of Day One (the first act) set to release on January 29. You play as a detective who arrive in a snow-covered town for a vandalism case but the area seems unusually quiet. The title is divided in four unique games (Konagame.com/surveys-closed-beta-release-and-the-end-of-season-pass-offer/" target="_blank" >no season pass) and each will feature between 2 to 3 hours of gameplay if not more.
