For this new chapter in our GSY Retro series, we decided to focus on a studio rather than a game. Black Rock Studio, formerly known as Climax (Moto GP on the first Xbox), managed to develop two new franchises whose Metacritic score reached more than 80. Sadly, it didn't prevent them from being shut down by Disney Interactive in 2011, a year after their second game was released. As you may have already guessed, the two titles we're talking about are Pure and Split/Second, two games that were undeniably good and that would have deserved next gen sequels. Take a look at our videos of the two PC ports (and realize that we have come a long way since then in terms of PC adaptations).

Disney Interactive sent us this new trailer of Split/Second showing as always its fun explosive events. Don't forget that a demo is available on the Xbox Live, PS3 players have to wait until May 5 in Europe and May 11 in North America.

Black Rock Studio sent us the second making of Split/Second dedicated to its Powerplays. Less than a month before its release.

Black Rock Studio has released the first making of Split/Second, dealing with the concept of the game and of course its explosive Powerplay. You will be able to wreck vehicles on May 18 in North America and three days later in Europe.

Disney Interactive releases this new trailer of Split/Second, showing an explosive race on the Downtown track. Let's hope the game will not get stuck in the blockbusters traffic jam of May, as it's expected on the 18th in the US and on the 21st in Europe.
