We reviewed Resident Evil 7

It's hard for me to describe how i feel about VR but when i played on Samsungs Gear i expected a nice clean visual upgrade when i tried the PSVR (PS4) and for me it kinda looked the same, dirty, grainy image or is this just me? Really did expect it to look much cleaner and crisp and it didn't IMO, then again maybe i'm just expecting too much i suppose?

Will get this next payday even though i know i'll shit my pants and give up after the first jump scare :)

Your eyeball is up against a screen, its not going to be the prettiest thing in the world, but i do definitely prefer PSVR's screen conpared to samsung VR (or vive for that matter). The phone has the edge in terms of resolution, but i cannot stand the screen door effect. PSVR instead has a sort of...grain instead, which i find far less distracting.

Tbh i didnt know what to expect on both VR sets and how good or bad the quality would be. Would you say it looks better on the vive then or do they all look kinda the same?

Res is better on the vive, but screendoor is still worse. If vive used the type of screen sony has used at vive resolution (1440p i think) it would be better than everything. But i don't like being able to see the black lines that exist between the pixels.

Think next year I'll jump for the vive then, this year I'm going to have to upgrade my trusty i5 first.

The first one is long (90 seconds), then it's usually when you want to load a video tape, or after you've completed it, before you can control Ethan again.
Ah ok, I can live with that, I thought there would be loading times when entering rooms or things like that which would kill the immersion for me. Thanks a lot for replying.

Crysis 1 was a fps strategy sand box. Crysis 1 is awesome.
