One question, how does TF stress the computer when compared to Half Life 2/CSS?

TF2 bassicly runs the same or maybe a little bit 'heavier' as the 'heaviest' map in CS:S, which is cs_militia I think..

Turning off HDR helps for gaining fps if you need it.. Lowering the resolution helps a lot too offcourse, but when using a LCD monitor with a native resolution you probably don't want to do that.. I've played TF2 on a E6600, 2GB, 7900GS system, and it ran really well at 1680x1050, 2xAA, 4xAF, high textures, no HDR..

I use the same settings in HL2:EP2 but with HDR on and the fps is lower there, into the 30's.. But since it's SP it doesn't matter that much.. EP2 also definatly looks better then HL2 and EP1.. I dunno what it is specifically that makes it look better, maybe better textures etc, but somehow it does.. Performance is also lower, so something has to cause that..

And about HL2 on the Xbox 360, I'm pretty sure I read that Valve added HDR etc to it to make it look better then the "old" PC version.. So I'm a bit surprised people say it doesn't look better..

So what am I a "fannyboy" of? Half Life 2? I've probably played more Halo than you have -- I just have a different opinion. Freak'n get over it already. This is the problem with fanboys in general.. even when you admit to your disorder you're entirely too sensitive when it comes to your favorite games. Guess what.. I'm not offended by the fact that you think HL2 is boring.. or that you're not a PC gamer (I'm actually relieved). I am a little offended by the whole, trolling aspect of the Halo 3 fans in this thread though.

So I don't recommend continuing down this path. I'm letting this slide.. you can keep discussing your opinion all you want, but this malicious bullshit isn't acceptable.

The final battle in EP2 is just unbelievable.. I'm playing at normal difficulty and I'm very experienced at games like this, but even I get my ass wooped in that battle..

I'm waisting way to much time getting rid of the annoying Hunters that escort the Striders I think.. And to many of my 'Magnusson devices' keep bouncing off instead of sticking to the Striders.. It's a really tough battle.. I wonder if the Neighborhood Watch (save all buildings outside the missile silo from destruction) achievement is even possible, it's almost impossible I think.. Big respect to anyone that pulls that off, even on easy.. EP2 was awesome, I can't wait for EP3 now.. Find Dr. Mossman and that ship, get revenge for Eli and the others, and deliver the final blow to the Combine..

It's out.. people be playing it on my friends list.

I still haven't bought it yet.. but it'll probably my next gaming purchase on PC. Probably. I need TF2 at least, and since I don't own EP1/2 either it seems to make sense to go ahead and purchase HL2 again.

You better get TF2! Who else am I supposed to frag with?

Btw, it took me 6 hours to complete EP2 (according to my Steamid stats).. Which is decent I guess for an Episode.. EP1 was somewhat shorter.. Overall I think EP2 was the best part of HL2 yet.. Valve has outdone themselfs again with pacing, action, and storytelling.. And what about those new cinematic physics huh? Wauw!

It doesn't really matter if you let the monitor or videocard scale/interpolate it (I've tested that), not running the native resolution will never look as good as the native resolution itself.. Native on a LCD is perfectly sharp, where non-native is always somewhat blurred..

Pretty crap ones.. They need to show this in HD quality..

But tbh I don't need to see it anyway, because I already know the result.. PC > Xbox 360 in graphics, controls, online play, and DLC.. So it's costs 3 times as more, who cares.. ;)

Jin, what ?online play on the PC is far superior and everything is guaranteed to be free. Sure valve said they wont charge for DLC but didnt Epic say the same thing ? Microsoft stuck their big foot in and made them charge. I cant help but think the same is going to happen for TF2 maps. Also PC controls are better ;)

BTW, I'm buying the 360 version so dont think I'm a PC fanboy. I have TF2 on the PC already and its freakin fantastic. I just want it on 360 for HL2 and the episodes. Already played Portal also.

The game is very twitchy on the PC.

I am really sucking it up... BUT the game supports gamepads. So... any brave Gamersyde folks want to take the challenge? Gamepads versus KB/MS?

I have to ask something to french, german and italian members of the boards, has the 360 version of the orange box been translated to your own language??
Well, at least HL2 and HL2: E1. I am asking that because the game hasn't been translated to spanish wich it sucks considering that Valve or whoever already had the original Pc version transalted so I don't know what on earth was Valve thinking of.

You should at least try thinking once :P

Less lag (significantly), larger player caps and in some cases simply less waiting to get into a game.. oh and it's hardly complex.

But more power to ya. I bet you still believe in 16 players as a design choice too.
