Of course they do it to make money. That is very obvious. I have not said anything against that. The female demographic is a large untapped market.

My point is that having females in Siege or in Overwatch does not impact the gameplay one bit. The game is still just as fun to play. The whole thing is a non issue imo.
It does. Women have smaller profile, thus hitboxes will not match with what you see, unless women are given smaller hitboxes, which would put them at the advantage with no downsides to speak of. A minor annoyance, yet it is there.

Here's some more food for thought.

For Honour Beta.

5 female avatars, including default. 4 male.

Is this not annoying to anyone? Is political agenda really that strong in you that you're willing to disregard mind-numbing dumbness of this? This isn't some anime schoolgirls fighting game, yet it might as well be one.

I know right! One would think that everyone should have an equal footing in a such a game, yet, it's not the case at all. It's also a thing in Overwatch and TF2, but they are not realistic and asymmetrically balanced, so it's ok.

If female characters had a distinct advantage no one would want to play their male counterparts

Uhh, no. People generally don't think about such technical aspects. They just rage quit.

Yeah it is why pro players only pick females characters...

There are very few FPSs in Esports that matter.

CS:GO has no female characters.

Call Of Duty, Halo, UT, and R6 up to this one have had equal-size male/female hitboxes.

Not sure about Crossfire, but some people say it's visual difference only. http://forum.gamerage.com/crossfire/forums/t/41464...

Here's something I found on Reddit.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/comments/4yhxq1/...

Read the comments. There's a legitimate concern from gameplay side of things as well.

So, unless you want Ubi to turn R6 into Overwatch, I just don't understand how you can be so dismissive about it.

Hit boxes aren't exact to head/body size in Rainbow Six.
A slender model doesn't = a smaller hit box
They alter hit boxes to balance the game otherwise it'd be broken. NO ONE would play.
Never have I played Siege and picked a female character thinking I'd have an advantage. It just isn't the case.
It's easy to be dismissive when you don't know what you're talking about...

Ash is the only character getting a few complaints. It doesn't validate an issue you claim to be over the entire title.

Plenty of people play broken games and don't even realise that. It's a very small minority of us who are aware of these problems. So much for your hyperbole.

Also, Valkyrie has similar complaints. Thankfully Ubi has been listening to players, since initial fiasco, so maybe they'll keep fixing stuff. But I'm not impressed either way. I still remember earlier days of gaming, where things made more sense, even if the execution and the budget were not always up to it.

It is not a broken game. You went from SJW pandering to hitboxes just to keep your bullshit going.

Not really, I still hate their SJW bs stuffing token female chars in everywhere with no regards for other aspects such as worldbuilding and so on. I said everything I could think of and since we started talking gameplay I decided to address the problem Ubi's attitude creates with specific games.

Feel free to insult me further, though. I heard that when you're doing it and using progressive ideas as a shield it doesn't really count as an insult. Or was it the other fellow? I can't really be bothered re-reading all the stuff we wrote before.

P.S. Sorry for having an opinion.

I gave examples of women serving pretty much all the special forces a page or so back.
Don't I get some sort of award for providing facts instead of some baseless argument

No. Your facts had nothing to do with my argument. Serving as an officer in some fancy unit is not the same as serving as a door breaching operator and his squadmates.

You can pat yourself on the back, though. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Oh so I have to know what units they serve on top of providing the fact that they're members? Makes sense. Good out though, since most of the organizations keep finite details secret.
The fact that Overwatch and R6 are both successful Esport games aren't enough to prove that they don't have imbalanced hit boxes?
I suppose millions of people playing both games just haven't noticed how broken their games are yet. Why play male characters at all? Suckers

Why aren't you bitching about this in the thread about Black Canary for Injustice 2, or Kolin in Street Fighter?
By your logic Capcom and NetherRealm are pandering too.
All those pro fighters in Street Fighter should have been main-ing female fighters this entire time! They didn't know it meant advantageous hit boxes

You know, I do believe your intentions are just and all, but how am I going to defend myself when you don't even try to remember that my whole argument, from the very beginning, was 'I hate when realistic games are being watered down to appeal to the market' and 'I like my games diverse in genres and in how they feel, and not political'?

Here's something you might not believe me saying, but I actually had zero problems with the new Ghostbusters cast (aside from me being not very fond of Mellisa McCarthy, but it's not gender or weight related). I don't have a problem with Overwatch's female cast, even though I hate the character design overall, and I don't have a problem with MGS 3's The Boss character. But I also can differentiate between a sincere attempt at character diversity when it fits the narrative, even if it means cutting back on realism and such, and forced diversity for the sake of pleasing 'the crowd' (read - small, but very vocal minority) with no regards for worldbuilding and so on.

Do you understand my point now? Because if not, I'm just gonna give up and think of you in a way I don't really want to.

P.S. As for the hitboxes, I already said that R6's problems with them have been noted by the community and Overwatch is asymmetrically balanced from the get go (as was TF2), so it's A-OK with me. I just don't want ARMA or R6 to become this. For me, the diversity in games is as important, as for you the diversity in gender representation.

Rainbow Six hasn't been very realistic since Rogue Spear in 2001.
Are you talking about a change that happened 15 or so years ago when it came to consoles? Because it's been more of an arcade game since then.
Your belief that they're creating female characters for political reasons isn't based on anything factual.
And I supplied the existence of females in all the ops represented in Siege, which you previously said there were none.
By all accounts with the information I listed, the inclusion of females in all these ops is realistic.

You can think of me however you want, it's no skin off my nose. This is the internet after all and we're just on a game forum.
