To answer Tinks: There's no quick fix for what ales me in Overwatch. I'd love to see a vast reduction in one-hit-kills across the board, not specifically including ultimates. I'd love to see Soldier and Junkrat completely re-evaluated and partly redesigned. In the absence of that.. just adding an AOE aspect to Soldier 76's ultimate would go a long way in making it more balanced against the rest of the "bullshit" in the game. McCree has a much more constrained aimbot.
But the "everything is OP" nature of Overwatch is a legitimate approach to balancing the game. In that respect, the "bullshit" fits with the game they've built. It's imperfect but it's far from busted. As asdfg put it.. accurately.. auto-aim triggers me. And as I suggested before.. I think there should be a tighter relationship between difficulty and reward.
So if I could change anything.. it would be the flow of information, both in and after a round. The lack of feedback on teammate and enemy performance is nearly unforgivable. A lot of players won't care about this, because it's not seen as directly impacting gameplay—and it doesn't—but it does impact how we play the game. Stats can make us better players (some of us, anyway). It's insulting to the player's intelligence when Jeff Kaplan suggests that we can't make heads-or-tails of a "spreadsheet". Do some players misread statistics? Sure. Does it provide fuel for toxic players? Maybe. Does that mean it's worthless? No way!
Tryhards are people too. If you're going to try to please everyone.. give us more information. I want round-to-round statistics, not an overview which makes it impossible to see if a metric is improving or declining. And we need better in-match information too. The scorecard is woefully inadequate. Right before the open beta started, we had a final blow medal and could at least track our own combat performance with every class. This aspect of the game has actually gotten worse. This is one of the worst iterations of the scorecard.
There are plenty of things worth praising. The core mechanics are beautifully polished, as is the presentation, from graphics to audio. And if you take a step back from the game itself, it's a superbly polished piece of software too. Blizzard is a rare breed.
The best thing about Overwatch is the variety of gameplay found in its characters. There's virtually no two heroes that share movement or gunplay. It's almost like there's a tiny piece of everything in there, without it feeling overwhelming or convoluted. It's just a very fun, very approachable game.

I am kind of wondering how long this game will hold my attention. There isn't a lot of content here, the content is really just all of the heroes and a few maps. I'm sure they'll try to add stuff to keep the community playing but I'm wondering what that might be. Is more maps enough?
I'm also pretty stunned at how well optimized this game is. I've got everything cranked up to 11 and running at 160-170fps. Its so smooth that its almost shocking

Hopefully promotion will keep people interested too. This seems to be a big deal for Blizzard. I can see them supporting the eSports scene in a big way, but we'll have to see how that plays out. Promotion can bring a game pretty far in that venue though, and it becomes an advertising vehicle in itself. And they also have all of the tie-in merchandising and advertising. The animations, comics, etc.
They're going to fight for our attention. I think I'll be playing it for a while. We were just praising its variety!
On performance: I get a little variation @ 1440p.. but it's like 90-144 FPS which is not noticeable (at all) on g-sync. Silky smooth. It's also totally gorgeous.. evidence that perfect performance and brilliant art direction have value over throwing more shaders at a thing.
Cake or death!?
We were the attacking team on the Mexico map.
Most fps games let people pick the same class/heroes if they feel like it. On DB the team can be full of the same character, BF4 can have a team full of medics to or worse full of snipers, so I don't see this as a game flaw, and more people been retard when picking their characters.
TBH after playing beta for a lot of hours, only a phew times I see people been retard picking their char.
Steam: ElectroManiac
I bet at higher levels you get rocked when shit like that happens
I played on a team of Bastions who just camped spawn exits, and even though there are pretty simple counters for that but none were executed.
On your scoreboard issue Grift, is it possible the scoreboard will be different in the Competitive mode?
None of us have seen that yet. Unless they've already confirmed this is what we have throughout the whole game.
I kinda think it's refreshing to get scored like this but it's different for everyone. It's been done the same way for so long.
What's nice about content, is that all the heroes and future maps will be free from what I've seen. I think they'll continue to add characters and maps for sure.
All the unlockable stuff does look really cool when previewing in-game too. Part of me wishes you couldn't see them before unlock tho.
Also basically playing a new hero every day is really cool. Learning each one.
I brought it up with a friend, which he hated when I mentioned it, but I still wonder if they'd ever do a campaign in this game.
The characters are so awesome - however they'll probably just keep releasing comics/videos instead I suppose.
The only character I really don't have interest in at this point is Roadhog. Maybe Junkrat too
Played a lot of Torbjorn yesterday which was a blast
One thing I will say that's debatable and I've seen discussed elsewhere.
Is the rank reset they're doing around this beta period.
Lots of longtime players are getting matches with noobs and just tearing them apart. All because there's no carry over
Could damage the game for some early game players and hurt their experience
Great game so far though, feels like Quake and DotA had a weird baby, but weird good. Also i'm guessing my FPS frame of reference is way out of whack.
Cake or death!?
Now I'm getting shrekt because there's like, 2 Soldiers on my team at a time and no one choosing tanks etc
No one runs together either :[
People need to also learn match ups. If'm Reinhart and I'm tanking learn to use my shield to your advantage. We did that and won a game quite easy plus that Mercy was really good to.
Steam: ElectroManiac
Had a team of 4 of us running and it was soooo much fun
Gotta be more flexible in Overwatch.
And I think viable hero stacks are totally fine.
:D
Steam: ElectroManiac
We always before rushing to the objetive set a point to get together and them rush for it. That was the only way we manage to get the last point.
A good team would have kill us all for sure.
Steam: ElectroManiac
Killing someone with their own ultimate is amazing.

I guess I'd like more ways to move through a map quickly than just Symmetra's portal
After seeing Lawbreakers I wish they had come up with more interesting ways for characters to uniquely move about
