Why is nobody of gamersyde capable to play a racing game properly.

After Project Cars 2 the next disaster - the player always drives like a maniac, crashes into the opponents and misses every apex of any corner, or cut the racing-line ...
and then you criticise in your articles the AI for being bad and running into you - but in fact its the other way round!

Explain how PCARS 2 AI gets influenced by the player when he starts last and the AI crashes itself in front of him. Surely player's fault yeah.
AI in PCARS 2 just ignore the player, it even ignore other AI, watch the Nurburgring FPS analysis, it pushes cars like if they do not exist, it pushes until it gets free, if it could "see" the other cars it would have avoided it or reverse a bit and then avoid it.

And as said in the article's text, Blim is not a sim racer, he tried to do his best in less than 30 minutes in the game to capture the more footage he could.

When I capture games at E3 or GC I do mistakes I don't do when I play at home because of the rush and the "one shot" we have to capture, we can't stay there during hours to master the game and restart again and again.

You're a joke, truly pathetic to blame my driving for the poor AI skills. It's just stupid. Now come, you love PCARS 2, you'll enjoy it and you'll stay blind to all it cannot do right. But don't come accusing us of being responsible for a mess only the devs can be blamed for. I explained the problems depended on the track and cars and the player had nothing to do it with them. Check the video, and stop complaining. If you're not happy with our skills, just leave.

The route is not designed for so many cars.

Due to the fact that the player is able to set up EVERYTHING arbitrarily in a single race (there are really no restrictions), its possible to combine any car series with any route! - and so its no wonder that strange moments may occour, if you want to look for it and set up silly settings.
If you reduce the number of vehicles on this track to 20 (how the number of cars is supposed to be (like in the career) there is no problems at all.

The combination jeeps (Ford F150) on go kart tracks also makes little sense (the cars have hardly any space) - but you can set it up.

Or if you drive with the Formula 1 car only with slicks on an ice track - it will probably not work properly.

So my advice - you should just use the options meaningful, or play the career mode (where most of the settings are preset).

And I prefer the complete freedom of combination (where strange things can happen, if you don't do it smart) to artificial limitations of developers.

quote from driftwood

"For starters, they should have made it impossible to push the number of drivers to 30 something on that track. It happens a lot less with just 20, though it still can occur."

All that power of the Xbox X and the lighting is still miles behind GT5 or Pcars 1. Why can T10 not sort this out?

Then why the hell do they allow people to max out the number of cars on Monaco? It's called game design. When something doesn't work, there is no shame in admitting it you know, people would have minded if they had been prevented from adding 31 cars on the track. Also, this happens with 20 cars too, less often but it still does happen, and Monaco can have up to 26 cars on the track in reality. And again, the problem is not just with Monaco, it also happens on other tracks with sometimes fewer cars. So what, we're supposed to hide it for the sake of a few devs and the backers/fans?

You didn't have any problem with my driving two years ago when I covered the first game, because at the time I had chosen to give them a pass. The fact that the problem is still there, that they haven't even tought of limiting the number of cars on certain tracks is the reason we have shown it. Now like I said, I've explained it depends on the circumstances, but if I had wanted to bash the game (that was not the point of the video), I would have shown all the other tracks and situations in which it had happened to me. Not because I was looking for trouble, but because i was just testing the possibilities they had given the player.

I was excited at the prospect of playing PCARS 2 all week-end, I mean I backed the project (£100 even), but my experience wasn't good overall, because of the bugs I mentioned and the AI. Was I unlucky? Well maybe, but the videos I posted still represent my experience in all honesty, some of which was also normal (but no one seems to care about the other videos). Fans and SMS were happy when I was showing PCARS 1 and 2 in their best light, they need to accept the fact that some of the problems can also be shown. Read all my impressions for god's sake, I didn't spend my whole week-end on the game to then be atatcked on my driving skills and my objectivity.

So Blim Blim and Driftwood do their best to provide content for us and now have to defend their driving skills. Not only that, Driftwood has to post a long comment on another racing game in a Forza 7 video streaming/download thread.

Making high end video content like Gamersyde does, isn't easy.

I thought of commenting yesterday on the original Project Cars 2 thread, but decided not to because "What's the point?!", but if you insist on being a fanboy twat who feels he has to defend the game, no matter what and start accusing people for no good reason, I might as well.

To all people complaining about Driftwood's disappointment with the game, look at both the + and - sections, he never said the game isn't good, only that it has many issues that were already present in the first game and that were never fixed, and that this was disappointing, since he expected better from the developers - and I would too.

I know a lot of people want to defend to death the franchises they like or bash other people's franchises - maybe because they're popular or are associated with a specific group/console manufacturer, but think for a second, do you really want to give developers a pass when they don't even fix bad design choices and bugs in a sequel that were already present in a previous game many years before?

Think very carefully, because if you say "Yes", you don't get to complain about Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Sports games, etc being mostly the same. Sequels should be held to a higher standard and it isn't unrealistic to expect a sequel to have corrected many of the issues of a prequel and be much better - not just a little bit better, or even worse. And when that fails to happen, it's perfectly fine to be disappointed with it.

There's so many goddamn disappointing game sequels that come to mind for me: Resident Evil 6, Dead Space 3, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Assassin's Creed: Unity, Batman: Arkham Knight, Crackdown 2, Ninja Gaiden 3, Crysis 2, BioShock 2, and the list goes on and on. And those are all beloved franchises for millions of people.

Should we suddenly give a pass on those games because the previous entries in the franchise were much better? Or should we judge them on their own merits? I choose the latter, since each of those games was released and charged full retail price, and they deserve to be criticized on what they did right and wrong.

I haven't played Project Cars 2, but to be honest if the developers still didn't change and fix many of the issues from the first game, they do not deserve a pass and should be called on it, that's the only way they will listen and hopefully will fix it in upcoming updates or for the next game.

You may choose to be blind to it, but to everyone else who relies on reviewers' honest opinions, it would be dishonest to say otherwise. And if you give them a pass on it, it just increases the chances of they never fixing these things in later games.

As for criticizing someone's gameplay abilities, since when does that justify a game's bad design choices and bugs?! Are you retarded - sorry, mentally challenged - or what? Does me playing Resident Evil 6 very well suddenly makes the game good? Or if I play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild very badly, does the game suddenly becomes bad? He could be hitting the wall every 30 seconds and it still wouldn't excuse a bad AI or bug if it happened in spite of the player's presence and/or actions.

If you disagree with Driftwood's opinion - that's what a review is, that's just that, a disagreement. Agree to disagree and move on. The game won't sell any less or more because of just a single review. Grow up! - Or don't. It's your choice whether you become wise or keep acting like an idiot.

Indeed, the engine does not seem to handle cloudy weather with diffuse light very well. They opted for a high pixel count instead of image quality on XBox One X, so the result looks as flat and dull as on the standard XBox.

it looks pretty solid to me. a considerable leap from forza 6 on xbox one. of course Forza Horizon offers more action and flair to it's classical tamed counterpart.

Forza 7 looks really solid in 4k 60 fps. i think i'll probably wait though for the next Horizon game. The Horizon series has a lot of flair and action. it more than satisfies my racing needs.

Just got a chance to download the Forza 7 demo on PC. it runs beautiful....10/10 for just performance and stability. 1440p 60fps ultra on a GTX 1060. maybe even higher with some adjustments.

Turn10 Makes great strides for game engine quality for both Xbox and pc. anyone looking for a solid racing game on pc, Forza is the series. forza 7 is much more stable than project cars.

No other racing game has lighting like GT5/sport/Driveclub.

Not very long in the PC demo installed on SSD, but that's not the final build so it may lack some optimisations.

Also, now you can change some settings and tune your car during the loadings, and even change you car while it's loading it seems (I saw the option on several videos).

On PC you'd be crazy in thinking Forza 7 is better than PCars 2, AC, iRacing, Raceroom, Rfactor etc etc the only reason why you would choose Forza is if you into car collection games, Love grinding or you want fancy graphics.
