I think the demo that SK will release will give us a nice taste of how the combat is you know.

I hope its not a teaser demo though that lasts like 5-10 minutes :P

Jesus the idiots over at GAF are going even nuttier than usual. Almost makes me wish I wasn't banned there, so that I could get myself banned flaming the trolls.

Quick recap - The new info and vids are awesome yet GAF still thinks it sucks because it is by SK.

In any case, I don't see how anybody can crap on the game after this latest barrage. Suggest areas of improvement, yeah, say it sucks no way.

looks a lot better, but im still not sold on the combat, stil doesnt seem theres much behind it besides an animation loop, wheres the feeling of force and power, if they fix that im sure it'll be grand. but if not, for a game where combat its its main focus, i doubt its gonna turn out too great.

Combat is a focus of course, but not in the same sense that its a focus in devil may cry or god of war.

What adds to the enjoyment here is the collection of items. It was always exciting getting some new stuff in world of warcraft when i played it. The feeling of being able to finally wear some new item when you hit that level, improve or add a new skill or use a new weapon you found was always a great reward.

That is something that is very enjoyable in games like these and that's an element games like dmc, god of war simply wont bring to the table atleast not nearly as well as Too Human appears to be doing because it has a heavy focus on the rpg elements. I really liked gamespy's writeup they were impressed, but they have some complaints as well most notably they would like to specifically target certain enemies especially when there are different types that can explode or even freeze you and you want to get them out of the way and they'd like the combat to feel more brutal by SK making the sound when hitting large robotic enemies more pronounced.

So I think SK somehow adding an ability to make the player lock on to different enemies would help a great deal.

I actually have a pretty good idea of something SK should add to the combat.

When not in close attacking an enemy or when doing ranged combat I say they allow the player to hit one of the bumper buttons or something to switch between different enemies and once you hit this button to lock on to an enemy it will solely concentrate on that one enemy until you kill him then the targeting reverts back to the way it was.

So once you hit this lock on button to target a specific enemy no matter where you move the right analog stick you will only attack this one enemy until they are dead if you are meleeing or if you are shooting you only hit that enemy. That right there would take care of a problem very easily I think because in game's like world of warcraft you can designate which enemy you want to attack so it would make sense for this game to have it as well.

The only real issue i have with TH is the right analoge being used for melee attacks. I believe it is the sole reason why people complain there doesnt seem to be any weight in the attacks and everything just feels floaty. And tbh, i found DD's explanation for the decision to do this to be kind of silly, so gamers wont get tired of playing? When i get tired from playing DMC or NG, i turn it off and do something else, besides, a little absence from a game is a good thing.

I suppose its not really fair to tear down the combat as I have yet to try it, perhaps it feels more right when actually playing than watching the gameplay videos. I love everything else though, and I look forward to the demo and release of the game. :)
