oh my god where did this thread go?
Tell me about it, I just think the situation is what it is.

I'm not bias to any platform myself but I would rather these forums stay friendly and muture than become a conflicted mess of insults and trolling from children who think they have something to prove because mummy bought them a PS3 (or 360) for christmas (or a Wii !!)

I sometimes wonder though how many of the people who post on the main page even know there is a forum in the depth of this site. lol

Okay. I'm SO fucking tired of this whole "keep your preferences to yourself" bullshit treatment around the internet. Look, do you want to be a fanboy (and there's a big difference between simply liking X better than Y and being a FANBOY), go right ahead. Now, don't bitch when people treat you like shit. But why has it become such a damn taboo to voice your opinion. Seriously, it isn't fucking religion. And people get away with saying worse shit about Jesus than about the Xbox, Wii or PS3.

I got banned off of NeoGAF because I asked "why would anyone bother to spend money in Wii peripherals when the PS Move is just around the corner?" Oh my god it was a fucking mob against me. And I got insulted to hell but I was the one who got banned. What the fuck is up with that?
Now you CAN have threads about console sales. WHOLE threads dedicated to that... meaningless shit. After all, does anyone have shares in the console market? And if some of they do they can do their own research, not cobble the forum up with BS threads. Sneaky double standards are the worst.

So, in conclusion, FUCK NeoGAF. And fuck anyone who tries to shut me up when I want to say what I think.

On another note, goddamn GOW1 is sin and punishment on Hard mode. There's this part in the athens rooftops where you have to fight these hovering dudes with blades on their arms and two armored golems with boulders in their arms. W T F...
You let your guard down ONCE and you're done for. Not to mention those guys are some of the most annoying videogame enemies EVR!

Haha, thnx. Yes. I've heard Bayonetta is immensely deep, as well as the Ninja Gaiden games. But IMO, PURE action games are my blood pressure's worst enemy.
I can't take that emasculation for more than 30 minutes. GOW is more accessible. Nawmeen? :P

i'm one of those people who posts negative comments about games if those comments are justified. (as if you didnt know that). what irks me is that people cant accept the critisism, or just ignore me completely. i'm here to share my opinion, and thats where my comments would start and end...but sadly you get these people who want to try to change your opinion, or even crazier, those who simply think the things you brought up about game x dont exist at all, when in reality they do, they just chose to ignore the problems....so why cant they simply ignore me highlighting these problems.

THAT is where the arguments start. it isnt the person who posts the negative comment (that is usually completely true no less or at least based on a completely subjective subject matter), it's the person who is willing to battle to the death to proove that person wrong. if they just ignored the one who said something negative, then forums would be a much better place imo.

take the alan wake comments on the first page. i said the game looks great but the facial animations are kinda lacking compared to most games.....was i lying? no, was it a fanboy fueled statement? no, i was simply speaking my mind about what i'd seen in the video. and it would have ended there, but then someone has to try to proove me wrong, change my mind about the facts that i can see with my own eyes. they post images and gifs to try to persuade me into not seeing the obvious animation flaws...which then resulated in 2 pages worth of attack/defense. my comments where true...it's the people who can't accept them/ignore them that let forums down imo.
Sorry Korn, but i've seen you do your share of attacking other peoples' opinions just the same. Someone makes a comment about SotC being a crappy art game, and you are there to tell them they have no cred or some BS. I realize you, like a lot of ppl, get attacked for making true criticisms, but that glaring trend of praising the shit out of certain games and nit-picking other games seems to be rub a lot of people the wrong way. I think that is obvious to anyone who bothers to pay even a little attention.

As for Simon's comments. I do think you are being too idealistic in terms of a peaceful forum full of people talking about videogames, of all things, in a constructive community-based hand-holding session of appreciation for a game. We all enjoy a good conversation, but I think some peopel are just far too easily put off and annoyed by the fact that people naturally get heated when the debate things they feel strongly about. As for the GoW3 comment, should I assume that was a jab at anyone in particular? B/c I think that comment might be somewhat misdirected if so.

but there is a VAST difference between "dropping a turd" in peoples' laps who enjoy a game and making comments as to why someone didn't enjoy a game as much as someone else might have. I would say that those praising a game in a thread are usually just as guilty, if not usually more so, about getting carried away in the heatedness of their argument(s).

I think (assume) most people visit forums/sites to seek new info on games coming out and just stop to make comments as they pass for the fun of a little back and forth with other gamers, whether attack/defend or just community praising etc. Now, obviously I am ommiting the fanboy/troll types who seek out an oppurtunity to insult other games and defend/hype/praise their fav games. I'm sure we all know that pattern and it's hardly worth conversation.

Making a criticism of a game, and the reaction one should expect, I think depends very much on the timing and nature in which they make such a statement. Tone is tough to convey so I'll leave that one alone for now. It's when someone just seems out to attack the game for an unwarranted reason (take Korn getting attacked on the Blur news thread as an example), whether this is the intent or not, if they deliver their criticism in a ham-fisted way, it's not hard to predict what the future will be.

Well I'm one of those few who can recognize a hidden agenda and biased connotation in a person's comment before they even click "Post reply". And call me paranoid and sensitive but I've witnessed people coming into threads to shit on PS3 game X because of the slightest nitpick and subsequently bringing up Xbox game Y to put the nail in their arguments. That's dickery and douchebaggery if I ever saw it.

It's IMPOSSIBLE not to draw comparisons but you have to measure yourself and the extent you can take your criticism. Because clearly, there're idiots out there, and then some REAL idiots to deal with.

There are franchises that have cemented themselves so firmly in the collective unconscious of gamers thanks to BULLSHIT reviews a.k.a outsourced marketing, that it seems downright lunatic to think they might actually be quite shit to begin with. And it's true most of the cases but like with anything in this world, there's always got to be an untouchable icon and it's holy grail - and poor you if you dare shift your tongue in disagreement.

Every time I see a thread for a specific game and then another one about another game, I see two flowing rivers of shit. Try to cover my nose and swim to find a nice rock to sit atop and through my paper rolls, but always with an eye out for that rock solid turd that wants to knock me down and cover me up with its crap.

Just finished the game. Took me 9 hours. It was a very good/epic ride, filled with action and some puzzles. Puzzles were quite easy, not as deep as the ones from Darksiders, but they did the job.

Now need check out those challenges to unlock arena, and replay the game at some point.

The thing I liked about the puzzles is that they were all self-contained. I'm not a huge fan of backtracking, and I dislike it even more when it's to solve a puzzle. Also, the Echochrome-ish Labyrinthe puzzle was neat.

Yeah it was pretty fun, with the kind of top down view. And don't get me wrong i liked the puzzles not over complicated, but not too easy too.

I didn't manage to max my Health and Magic meters, only the Items one... i thought i was looking everywhere, i blame helios head :P

Now with all done, it's hard for me to choose the fight i enjoyed most. Fighting Cronos was pretty great!

Did you use the Helios head to illuminate the invisible chests?

I found the smaller scale fights more fun that the Titan ones. Hades...Hercules...Zeus.. good variety in how they played out.

I only found out about the invisible chests pretty late :( i blame helios

Hercules fight was cool as Hades taking soul out, and both fights gave me my favorite weapons :)

But really, it's very hard to choose the best, every fight was unique.
