Book spoiler: And no Lady Stoneheart? Was kind of hoping for that to be the end scene.
The way they had Brienne find Klegane and Arya was different than the book too. In the book he dies of his wound that he refused to let Arya treat I'm pretty sure.
It's kinda weird how they had him get the shit kicked out of him instead. Even after they played up that wound he got for a number of episodes this season, thought for sure it'd stick to the book on that one.
Tywin's done though
The whole Tyrion story at the end isn't nearly as powerful as in the book either. There's a huge story to Tyrion and his first marriage which they briefly touch on a few seasons ago, that really impacted this part of his murdering his own father.
It's really weird they left it out too since it has a large impact on his relationship with Jaime too.
Also the dude under/in the tree wasn't nearly awesome enough!
GRRM gunning for Sansa Stark now.
What's funny is that a lot of the deaths this season never happened.
Dying on the shitter after learning that all the rumors about your family legacy being an incestuous in-breed pigsty are REAL? That's just all kinds of universal cosmic karmic justice.

You have to understand where it all comes from-
“You are an ill-made, devious, disobedient, spiteful little creature full of envy, lust, and low cunning. Men’s laws give you the right to bear my name and display my colors, since I cannot prove that you are not mine. To teach me humility, the gods have condemned me to watch you waddle about wearing that proud lion that was my father’s sigil and his father’s before him.” (ASOS, Tyrion I)
That's HATE bro. Look at what Tywin did to Tyrion's first wife-
After Jaime had made his confession, to drive home the lesson, Lord Tywin brought my wife in and gave her to his guards. They paid her fair enough. A silver for each man, how many whores command that high a price? He sat me down in the corner of the barracks and bade me watch, and at the end she had so many silvers the coins were slipping through her fingers and rolling on the floor, she . . . ” The smoke was stinging his eyes. Tyrion cleared his throat and turned away from the fire, to gaze out into darkness. “Lord Tywin had me go last,” he said in a quiet voice. “And he gave me a gold coin to pay her, because I was a Lannister, and worth more.” (AGOT, Tyrion VI)
What kind of man takes his son's wife , declares her a prostitute and then let's his entire guard rape her? What kind of man does something like that to his own son?

I just allowed myself one book spoiler because folks who read the books, are raveing about this characters not being revealed. So I looked this character up.....OH MY GAWD!!!! It was a doozy! 3 letters: L. S. H.
I bet that's who the next season opens on.
But yeah the story Grimthorne is talking about is what I was referring to too.
In the books the way Tyrion's 1st wife was treated really haunts him throughout the whole story.
When Jaime sets him free in the dungeon, Jaime confesses that his wife was not a prostitute and they just didn't want him marrying anyone lowborn. So essentially the girl got raped and no one knows what happened to her after.
This puts a rift between Tyrion and Jaime so large that he even goes so far as to say he killed Geoffrey before they part ways.
Then Tyrion sees Varez(spider) before he risks himself going up a secret dark ladder to his father's chambers. Makes Varez look even more evil.
The murder happens and Tywin is painted as truly evil at that point and it makes the death all the sweeter.
In the show the way he tells him he never planned on killing him and that he was his son almost made you feel badly for him, which was weird.
And it also left the relationship of Jaime and Tyrion incredibly strong.
The shows producers must know something we don't about the future of both characters...
I bet he went to Dorne to shag and drink margaritas in the sun.
