2009-10-30 01:23:47 In reply to Milhouse (2009-10-29 15:36:02) Posted by Milhouse The cars are definitly remodeled, not just in photomode. And the only difference you really notice with the highest LoD model is that you can see the full detailed interior. And this is also only for your car you are driving. Every other car model isn't replaced in photomode and you can't even see their full interiors. Still, looks awesome, and good job there Simon. But you know Simon, that picture you posted is overly compressed--by you it looks like. There is no way a picture that say will come out to be that bad looking. So get it together man, and stop using paint to resize your pictures, lol. --- |

I had to take a pretty zoomed out picture or it'd cut off the hood of the car, so then I just cropped the image to leave the car in view for this one. I must've sat on a cockup button at some point. I'll make sure future pics are cleaner! :) --- |

2009-10-31 08:22:14 I made the shocking discovery today that FM3 doesn't support public online games, but only (limited) matchmaking and private online games.. What was used in FM and FM2 most by me (and many others) simply got taken out of the game.. I cannot believe it.. --- |

2009-11-01 04:33:34 Another bad news is the fact that they no longer let you paint the car's calipers, and some cars seem to have even less body kits than before :( --- |

What was used in FM and FM2 most by me (and many others) simply got taken out of the game.. I cannot believe it.. Being able to setup a room with solid options to account for your current mood (or state of online players) was HUGE in FM2. e.g. Tonight me and a B3D guy were racing. Clearly a lot of newbs in matchmaking. All we needed to do was enable "ghost driving" because of the 8 people racing 3 thought it was bumper cars / destruction derby. This really made for frustrating racing. Not being able to actually use all the AWESOME options they have is a pity. And it has a negative impact on the online component. While matchmaking worked for Halo 3 (pity their online features were also neutered) there is no reason a well functioning model in FM2 was abandoned. --- |

2009-11-04 22:48:10 In reply to Acert93 (2009-11-04 17:44:10) Posted by Acert93 I hated matchmaking in Halo 3, and I am hating it even more in FM3 due to the fact so many tards ruin your race from the get go. :( Probably the most enjoyable "races" in FM2 were the 90 lap Tsukuba drift events, were racing was really not important. --- |

2009-11-05 01:39:03 I had a lot of really great online MP races in FM2. The custom lobbies tended to weed out griefers, and since you attracted other racers interested in actually racing they were more than happy to BOOT lamers. It took 3 races to kick a griefer this afternoon in matchmaking :( --- |

2009-11-10 06:24:25 In reply to Acert93 (2009-11-10 05:52:47) Posted by Acert93 Grift will get a laugh out of this. 1) Turn10 said all the online features from FM2 were coming to FM3. 2) Turn10 stripped opened Public Lobbies, only allowing Match Making and Private Lobbies. 3) Result? Exhibit A. Forza official forums were 80% of posters voting say MP is significantly broken and has little to no replay value. Exhibit B. Over 2,400 posts since launch complaining about the Match Making system. Exhibit C. Forza fans ran to IGN and other review sites leaving scathing reviews praising the game but making up for the bad PR and misleading/incompetent media reviews by rating the game, on average, less than 5 stars out of 10 with common titles like, "Perfect Racing Game, Completely Broken Online Play." Match Making is closely tied to DLC, but in some cases it may actually lose money when you alienate a huge segment of your core fans. As of today Turn10 has said they have absolutely no plans of enabling public lobbies again. Reminds me of when Bungie's 11th hour stripping of the Custom Game Browser... --- |

2009-11-13 23:08:00 This game flopped in October's NPD. I can't help but laugh considering how cocky and misleading Dan and Che were when promoting the game. Maybe this will teach them something. |

As much as I don't like the public face of this game, this is still so far the best console racing game out there by a long shot, so I would hope it sells well. --- |

2009-11-14 04:04:04 FM2 outsold it in the same 5 day period. Considering the 360 install base is almost 3 times larger, yeah. 170k isn't what you expect from a title that has improved as well as become more accessible. I don't know what kind of marketing they did. The game has over 200k people on the leaderboards (Europe?) so it is definately on the path of profitability--but not what MS wants I am sure. --- |

2009-11-14 04:23:49 I think word of mouth really hurt FM3.. To many people were (and still are) to dissapointed in the online part of FM3, and all the news about that kept friends and others from buying it.. And now it's biting T10 (and MS) in the ass.. I just checked the online matchmaking in FM3 again today, and there were only about 600 people in total on all the 'hoppers' (as they like to call them).. It's a big failure, and they've only got themselfs to blame.. Taking away online standards and replacing it with a crappy very limited matchmaking system simply won't be accepted.. Posted by LEBATO You just have to wonder what stupidity they'll come up next with FM4? --- |
