FH4 runs better on PC. More details, higher resolution at 60 fps, so else did you expect?

Would be nearly unnoticeable unless I'd own a high end PC able to play on ultra/4K/60fps, or it would be as good as a One X.

This was fantastic on my pc. I am able to do ultra with 4x AA on my old 980ti and an 8700k at 1200p. Not a frame dropped from 60. I'll try extreme later. I really love the colors in this game, and the cars are much more responsive than they were in 3. That was a big gripe about 3 I had was the sluggish response when turning.
It's TRUE: Much More Responsive then Forza 2&3.
On My GTX 970 @Ultrawide=2560x1080 on High Settings it runs so smooth and no FPS Drops.
And thats just the Demo with no Patches.
The third one runs very poor first, then with the Patches it also runs Perfectly Now.

And i also like the Environment in the UK Very Much!!

I have found another comparison with GTX 970 G1 on ultra and the One S console, they both look the same to me, but you can make your conclusion. https://youtu.be/m0KaJ_HAzqI

I ran the benchmark several times yesterday. I have a GTX 980 with 4GB. On ultra preset the framerate tanked due to the game using more than 4GB graphics memory on that setting, lowering it to High preset i didn't notice much difference in visuals, but got almost double performance. GPU memory usage was then low enough that the system didn't have to keep getting the data from system mem (over pci-e). Lowering the preset to Normal gave me further performance gains without discernible visual differences.

I don't know what settings would give the exact same visual quality as the Xbox One X version, but perhaps Digital Foundry will do an analysis on that later. I'm guessing it's somewhere around the Normal preset on pc. On Normal preset at 4K i got an average of about 50fps average, and 92 fps on High preset at 1080p.

From the videos I have seen I think Ultra is the setting from all the One consoles. The only difference you'd get from X is the same you'd get from PC having additional frames and bigger resolution. It seems MS did not make a great effort to make the game look better on the PC so console fanboys don't get jealous and keep buying their consoles. If you consider all the money you would spend on a PC and still having the same visuals from a cheaper console. If every other games was like that I would get my self a console.

Ultra is still better than X, mostly in the distance of details and shadows, and guess what, they even added some Extreme settings for PC users, but shitting on Microsoft for no reason is so easy.

But there's a bug in the demo on PC, the grass LOD goes less further than on Xbox, at every setting.

Isn't every other game like that? In most multiplatform games the PC version is more or less identical to the console versions when it comes to assets. Recently there's been more games with "bonus 4k textures" on the Xbox One X versions, which again rubs off on PC versions too. Other than that it's mostly draw distance, shadow quality, ambient occlusion and such (often with very diminishing returns) and resolution and framerate you have the possibility in a PC port to push highter than on consoles.

From what i've seen i wouldn't call Forza Horizon 4 a lazy port. My computer (with a GTX980) runs the game a few notches better than the X, about what can be expected of a well optimized port considering my hardware.

And for the youtube comparisons. You could probably put the PC version side by side with Medium and Ultra presets, and it would be hard to tell the difference due to the way youtube compresses videos (as in..very compressed).

And they're not even full screen comparisons. And people wonder why DF does 300% zooms on youtube videos.

Yeah the goodness of PC gaming comes from the options you're given, and the ability to achieve things beyond console specs. That thing is not always asset quality, but unlocked resolution and framerate, vast input options, etc.

Youtube has indeed a bad quality that makes it hard to notice any difference, which is why I come here. But there was other comparison videos I have seen from older games where it was much easier to compare. And people would agree in the comments as usually the PC had a much better quality that you could see even when playing the video in 720p. It was from these videos that people realized how XBox One was better than PS4. You could search other game comparisons to see how PC used to be better. But now most games on PC has very subtle improvements than XB. XB1X can now run games almost like high end PCs. That wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the price of a high end PC.
