$MS have always done well in the UK, but in the rest of EU they are not so much.. but with the way the Finance markets are going, price may very well begin to play an important part?.

I guess there is always going to be a bump with any pricecut, xmas should be interesting.
LONDON - 30 September 2008 - New figures announced today by ChartTrack saw sales of the Microsoft® Xbox 360 increase by 214% in the last two weeks[1], outselling Sony’s PlayStation 3 by more than two-to-one and reaffirming its strong momentum in Europe in the wake of its recent reduction in estimated retail price (ERP).

But even if it was I doubt it would be enough for Sony to catch MS if the Xbox 360 keeps selling better in the US.. If sales in Europe of the Xbox 360 are rising and even in Japan Sony can't sell more anymore, then things look very bad for Sony (in the shortterm)..

2 main problems for Sony.. Xbox 360 is cheaper and has more games, 2 vital things to win the market..

Then all these sales topics do aswell..

Like I said, I've never actually seen a reliable source for the PS3 sells better in Europe statement.. So I wonder where it comes from, that's all.. And aslong as I don't get a answer, I'll repeat the question everytime someone repeats the statement..

Sainsbury’s are set to drop the price of the Xbox 360 to under £100 in a move that furthers the ever heated price war. MCVUK have revealed that the Supermarket will be dropping the price of the Acade xbox 360 from £129.97 to £99.97 and the 60GB 360 from £169.97 to £139.97. The offers are set to run for a limited time between 3rd October 2008 - 12th October 2008. So if you have yet to purchase a 360 now is the perfect time.

If the economy continues to be rough a $199 console with RPGs is a bit more appealing than a $399 one. The real story isn't that the 360 is besting the PS2 and PS3, but just how horrible the PS3 is doing in Japan. Sony completely lost touch with the Japanese consumer withing one generation of time.

Consumers are fickle. May Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony keep that in mind as they design their new consoles. What worked one generation doesn't always work the next...

Again, why so much focus on the bottom of the list? PSP is selling like hot cakes (more than all consoles combined in the previous week) and that's far more important IMO.
