Westernized ones ? No I dont think so, even, the JP popular series like Fatal Frame ...etc dont sell well. The only one that sells really well is RE4, being a HUGE series over there.

Well it was never dead. Remedy is a small studio so it's going to take awhile

by the time this is actually releases im not sure if im going to care enough to buy it. i'll be renting it for sure. but the longer this game takes, the lower my anticipation gets...kinda like the HOME service for PS3.

I have a feeling Bungies game is also getting its cameo at the TGS... after all halo actually sells a few copies in japan.

No way, both games will be shown at a dedicated MS event, there is no reason to show either titles in Japan.

i'm interested in mistwalker and any japanese oriented games for the upcoming tgs. right now i'm not worried about alan wake or new halo, its not like they are coming out this year

Most of what you will see at TGS this year won't be out this year either.. :S

I expect to see a playable JP demo of FF13 with a demo on PSN.

That's a pretty childish way to look at this, is it not? Can you not put the game out of your mind for now? I have. When the game does get shown again it will (hopefully) be gameplay and we haven't actually seen this yet. If the game is as good as we have been hoping then seeing gameplay will surely spark my interest and get me hyped for it again.

thats great that it works like that for you, but not for me. this, as well as the new splinter cell, are slowly but surely losing their appeal to me. it gets to a point where you've been waiting so long, with little to no information, that its hard to get excited for the game anymore. and thats what happened with alan wake. im definately going to play it, but it wont be a +1 from me in terms of the games sales. i'll be renting it. save some moolah

probably, i've rented more and more games recently that i otherwise would have bought (bad company, alone in the dark etc). a game like alan wake doesnt come across as a game with much replay value either, and i cant imagine a multiplayer component, so it'd be shelved the moment i complete it anyway. so a rental is the better, cheaper option for me.

i WAS going to buy it! alan wake, fable 2 and splinter cell convictions where my only 3 purchases this year...now its down to fable 2...shame really

Just out of curiosity, why is there any excitement over this game? I remember seeing that little video showing some environments a couple of years ago that I was impressed with at the time, but nothing else about it really piqued my interest about the game. As it stands now, I don't even care a little about it, and I guess I'm not sure why other people do...I mean, what have you seen or heard about the game to make you all care about it?

There was a lot of interest in Alan Wake well before it was deemed an Xbox exclusive. People took notice because it's Remedy's first game since Max Payne 2, which was a fine, fine game.
