*You might want to change the title to "Clive Barker's Jericho - Demo impressions* :)
Well finally a action game demo after all the sports this and that.
My impressions are this...you thought PDZ had great textures? This one has better ones...shiny walls, blood...etc.
the aiming and all that, its very good, no problem with the aiming at all.
The enemies are dumb, but we expect as much right, they are undead, so we have to re-kill them again :P
You take charge of Church, Delgado and Black.
Delago is the bearded guy with a big machine gun.
Black is the sniper girl.
Church is the katana wielding girl with handgun.
The demo was short though..I was a bit dissapointed in the short demo we got, but creepy and good experience for sure.
I REALLY wanted to play as Billie Cole, the blonde girl with the visor, the tech girl, she looked to be handling things nicely, and she has the assault rifle.
You can command orders to Alpha and Omega, Delgado is the only person i the Alpha squal (or was it Omega).
You can pretty much give them commands like come here, move to that location...etc. the simple commands for the AI.
You can change characters at any time.
Now you are wondering...is it creppy?
Although im 22 years old I found it disgusting rather creepy.
But I will play it more times at night when its dark, in couple of hours should be nice.
I think online co-op would be awesome for sure, but I guess Clive wanted it to be a unique single player experience, so its kind of a shame, would work perfectly for sure.
So thats my experience from the demo...now gonna play it one more time.
*Still waiting for the PS3 demo to show up today to compare the controls and graphics*
*Killzone 2 - The Dark War Continues*
PS3: Killzone 2 - MGS4 - Uncharted - Haze - DMC4 - Dark Sector - God of War 3
360: Mass Effect - Assassin's Creed - DMC4 - Ninja Gaiden 2 - Too Human - Fable 2 - Resident Evil 5
Sounds interesting, wasn't sure what to expect gameplay wise (other than usual FPS mechanics)
PS3 is usually updated about 4pm isn't it?

Well it is still a FPS for sure, but it adds much more really, with the whole powers and all that I forgot to mention. :P
Delgado
Got this flame arm that he can use against all the enemies near him.
Black
has this telekines for moving objects and all (shows he can move everything in the trailer, haven't tested it out yet).
And her second ability is the bullet control, meaning you shoot a bullet and you can pretty much control it exactly where you want it to go, so you can hit multiple enemies with one bullet.
Church
Got this thing for cutting herself :P
She cuts her hand and uses her own blood to created fire so you can have big lights around you to see and if enemies come close they will light on fire, if lucky.
Her second ability is to cut her hand, spil blood on the floor to create some sort of a blood orb, so when enemies come close it creates like blood strings to them and make them stop, not move at all, kind of like a stun tazer.
One thing I forgot, is the music...once you play as Church and have to go into a hole to find another way...it plays a very cool ambitent choir like if its in a church with horror elements.
I think the soundtrack is gonna be pretty sweet for sure, the composer is quite famous ;)
--------------
About the PS3 demos, i don't know, its 15:15 in the afternoon here (sweden) so I haven't checked yet, but I will after I finish the demo.
I am surprised how well the aiming/shooting mechanic works, its much better than I thought. Its not clunky or anything, it feels natural after couple of killing :P
*Killzone 2 - The Dark War Continues*
PS3: Killzone 2 - MGS4 - Uncharted - Haze - DMC4 - Dark Sector - God of War 3
360: Mass Effect - Assassin's Creed - DMC4 - Ninja Gaiden 2 - Too Human - Fable 2 - Resident Evil 5
Well, i wasnt convinced, and with all the upcoming games, unless you love the genre (demons, blood, decapited corpses and stuff, and i know there are lots of you out there who do, cmon dont be shy) there's not much time for this...
The second thing is, one of my other likings are the fact of ancients history of paranormal "stuff". So hell, heaven, deamons, angels...etc. I love those things, and yes Constantine the movie was very cool, have it on DVD.
So yeah, I started to go on the official site about the back story and this Firstborn story got deeper and deeper, was very awesome to read it.
Like the Firtborn god created before Adam and Eve. He created it, its not human, its not a demon, its just a unfinished "thing". He didn't like it so he vanished it into another world, but then God started to create a fresh start, Adam and Eve.
That alone started me to read more and more...so the story is very cool for sure. I might get it if I had money for it as well as other games that is coming out.

360: Mass Effect - Assassin's Creed - DMC4 - Ninja Gaiden 2 - Too Human - Fable 2 - Resident Evil 5
Nice graphics, but ridiculously dark in places to the point of not knowing which direction you are headed or where your emenies are. (not to mention the flash light doesn't even work)
Marumaro for the WIN !!
You can't even hold the damn flash light and shoot at the same time, or the shit just runs out after 1 minute and have to wait till it recharges...now THATS a flash light :P

PS3: Killzone 2 - MGS4 - Uncharted - Haze - DMC4 - Dark Sector - God of War 3

the different characters are also pretty cool, especially the sniper, love the telekenisis bullet control. but im not sure how thats going to effect the variety...since you cant pick new weapons up your effectively being forced to use whatever characters weapons your given. other then that tho i liked it, it was intense, looked great and has potential in terms of story, the idea of a botched job first creation by god is kinda cool. i just hope it isnt quite as cheesy as hellraiser.
atm tho, so far so good.
Nothing more rude than trying to be the internet diplomat and abusing of power.
By the way, the PS3 version is up on PSN US so I am downloading it now and I will in short say whats up.
However people that have played both and compared it side by side says its extremely equal graphic wise...but its the controls that are different, and thats when "who prefers what" comes in.
I gotta say though, I have HDMI on PS3 while 360 got HD component so I expect to see atleast something different.

PS3: Killzone 2 - MGS4 - Uncharted - Haze - DMC4 - Dark Sector - God of War 3
360: Mass Effect - Assassin's Creed - DMC4 - Ninja Gaiden 2 - Too Human - Fable 2 - Resident Evil 5
I noticed right in the beginning that the PS3 version is much brighter (kind of washed out, but still sharp) than the 360 is freaking dark and can't see shit, unless there is a light with VERY strong colors.
Controls are exactly the same, from buttons to everything else.
I am a but surprised that they chose the triggers to shoot and the bumpers for the powers, exactly how it should be on shooters.
But on the other shooters on PS3 its the bumpers that you shoot with, awkward.
This was 360 HD component against PS3 with RGB Full Range HDMI.
I don't understand why PS3 with HDMI isn't darker and all that. I have "RGB Full Range (HDMI)" on, and that should be much more sharper and colorful.
I don't know which version to go with considering horror games with tons of blood, gore...etc. prefers dark and colorful colors, but if its too dark its gonna be a hard time to see anything.
I gotta say though, when its so damn dark and colorful even the 360 shows more textures.
Well thats how it is between the two ;)

I really wonder if the 360 hdmi will lighten up the 360 visuals, if so, I might end up getting a new one.

Nintendo c'est vraiment n'imp :http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=190547
I have come to conclusion that the PS3 version is MUCH better.
It is brighter, the textures shows is very great and because it is a bit washed out but yet in a dark atmosphere and all, it is great.
Kind of reminds me of the Oblivion dungeon comparison that Gametrailers did.
The 360 is waaay too dark, while sure, it sure shaprer colors and all that, but the more sharp it is the more jaggies it will show and the darker the dark areas will get.
While the brighter the color gets, but yet balances it out with sharp color and all, it is much better, you see more details, less jaggies.
For example the 360 version had tons of jaggies on the characters even upclose, while the Ps3 showed almost no jaggies, showed all details, with bright but yet colorful colors.
One thing that REALLY pissed me off about the 360 version was when Church was about to crawl into the hole to open the gate. You encountered some undead that you needed the flash light to find your way out the hole.
Anyway, the 360 was so damn dark it took me like 10 minutes to find the direction to go, so I kept moving untel I saw a sparkle from the enemies attack.
But the PS3 had so much better perfomance on that part. I saw everything, but yet it was dark and watchable. You didn't get lost, you could see everything, but yet it had that dark, even daker if you didn't have the flightlight.
So in graphical perfomance, from a personal opinion...PS3 is better.
*Killzone 2 - The Dark War Continues*
PS3: Killzone 2 - MGS4 - Uncharted - Haze - DMC4 - Dark Sector - God of War 3
360: Mass Effect - Assassin's Creed - DMC4 - Ninja Gaiden 2 - Too Human - Fable 2 - Resident Evil 5
Like nothing was cut out from either versions at all ;).
I just din't understand why they made the 360 much more darker as default. But you follow my brightness step and judge for yourself and I am sure you will agree :)
That settles it then...360 version for me, and thats ONLY because of the controller fits for a FPS much more (I dont care about achivements at all)
PS3: Killzone 2 - MGS4 - Uncharted - Haze - DMC4 - Dark Sector - God of War 3
360: Jericho - Mass Effect - Assassin's Creed - DMC4 - Ninja Gaiden 2 - Too Human - Fable 2 - Resident Evil 5

Care to say what meant?
PS3: Killzone 2 - MGS4 - Uncharted - Haze - DMC4 - Dark Sector - God of War 3
360: Mass Effect - Assassin's Creed - DMC4 - Ninja Gaiden 2 - Too Human - Fable 2 - Resident Evil 5
This is probably just a default thing between the RSX and Xenos that they have different gamma levels.
Edit- Just tried it on the demo, turning up the Gamma settings helped a lot with the 360 version.
Marumaro for the WIN !!
Obviously the Ps3 and 360 version doesnt look the same by default, but if you follow the instructions it will be identical like I said.
Gamma instruction
X360 - 2-3 to right (light gamma)
PS3 - 1-2 to left (dark gamma)
That should make it exactly the same.
I did that and the looked at the same stuff that had very good lighting, textures...etc. and then compared the both by switching channels back and forth.
PS3: Killzone 2 - MGS4 - Uncharted - Haze - DMC4 - Dark Sector - God of War 3
360: Mass Effect - Assassin's Creed - DMC4 - Ninja Gaiden 2 - Too Human - Fable 2 - Resident Evil 5
I will have to try that with some games, I didn't think of it before.
As for my other post, I just wanted to say "dot", :P

i can honestly say that I had no idea which was which until I picked up a random controller to move and see if the game reacted, thats how close they are...if you change the gamma as I pointed out.
Nope, no problems with the TV at all...it was like finding a good channel to watch ;)
"dot" are fine, but you know, me and you had some "battles" before, I think you changed to the good, so I thought that "dot" was one of your...ehm, you know.
But all is forgiven, don't know why but... :D
