Guys. I know its a long ways off, but I'd like to point out some things that I found cool in the trailer.


- Seth seems to be an amazing character. Her personality is awesome. And she's hot. Notice how Yansen says "What are you? Seth's sister!?" when that little girl kicks him. Thjis probably means that Seth bitches him out a lot.

- The bad guy seems to be the general from the earlier trailer. I really hope he isnt the *main* villain. But eh.

- We can guess some new things about the story:

There are three kingdoms.

Uhra- The industrial kingdom who's inhabitants have a thing for gold. Their soldiers are the ones who wear those wierd ring shaped helmets. The king of this country is Tolten (who ends up joining the party), that guy in the gold armor who the main villain was manipulating. Also, Kaim seems to be a member of this nation's army (at least in the begining of the game), since he is known as Lieutenant Kaim Argonar by it's brass.

Lamuria (sp?)- I'm confused on this one. This nation is the one that has all of those beautiful white buildings, (the ones showcased in previous trailers.) The queen, Ming, is the girl who kisses Yansen in that scene, and she seems to be a party member. But, I'm guessing that those soldiers in white (the ones with the bow and arrows who attacked Kaim, Seth, and Yansen in the E3 trailer) are also a part of this country. So it's wierd. Why are they attacking the party if their country's queen is friends with Kaim and pals.

The other mechanical nation- I didnt catch the name of it. You can kind of hear it when Tolten says "oh no they're attacking!" and Seth answers with "Perfect!". But I'm guessing that they're evil and such, because they are apparently a race of jackals and they have those scary siege weapons. Not much is known about this yet. So yeah.


Anyway, yeah.

I agree 100% Seth seems like an amazing character thus far. The guy the queen kisses seems to really remind me of the monk from inuyasha that has the windtunnel curse on his hand.

The scenes seem really well done and I love the english voice acting. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I may end up going with the English Voices for this game. Seth sounded so great when she said that old man was her son lol.

The queen is simply fantastic not sure what else to say there. She looks, sounds and acts perfectly. I wouldn't be surprised if that guy earlier in the game many rude advances at her and she's finally beginning to warm up to him. He mentioned how she was immortal and he wasn't. Do you guys suspect that if a mortal character dies during combat they are dead for good? Because I remember awhile back Sakaguchi mentioning something about stripping mortal men and women of their talents and abilities and he wanted to make you feel guilty each time you did it.

And yes, Queen Ming is ****ing amazing. I'm having her in my party at *all* times. One thing that kind of bothered me was how control switched to Kaim on the field even though he had absolutely nothing to do with the scene. I really hope they fix this. It's really stupid.

But yeah I agree about Seth. Her english VA was like perfect, kind of suprised really. Actually, all of the English VA in that demo was nicely done. A lot better than the mess that was in Blue Dragon, that's for sure.

Really liked her scene with her son lol. Also liked the ending scene with Jansen(Miroku? lol) and the Queen/Twins.

I found that last scene to be entirely irritating. At first the it looked like it was going to be good but then the guy started overacting (animating?). I did like the womans voice but dialogue didn't quite work.

Yea that demonstration was extremely impressive. Pretty much regardless of what my expectations are for these titles coming in they always appear to get exceeded.

I have downloaded the whole demo from IGN in 720p but have not watched it yet, i'll watch it tonight on the HD tv, i can only imagine how good it will look :).

The in-game cut scene's looked amazing, why bother with all this CGI stuff?

Well thats obvious the real-time cutscenes look unbelievable, but certain things are simply better expressed in a full on CG cutscene. Things that would likely choke performance wise were they attempted in real-time. Honestly after Blue Dragon I welcome any and all CG cutscenes whenever a dev decides to them because done right they just add so much to the experience. I can only imagine the type of CG we'll see in Final Fantasy 13 or Versus 13.

It has probably been in development since 2005 or at the latest early 2006. If 2006 then it's possibly a late 2008 or perhaps mid to late 2009 release.

I don't mind the use of the CG though. I was originally worried about disc space when it came to certain titles and was hoping they didn't use CG to save space, but now that I see firmly devs aren't holding back anything and willing to make games multi disc I'm all for it. Some of the best games have been multiple discs. MGS1 on the ps1 was 2 discs and that was no problem at all and some of the best jrpgs have been multiple disc games. It just might be MORE next gen to be on a single disc, but I think I'll manage :)

Wow! amazing, just amazing demo. thank you so much for the link. the game is shaping up to be quite an epic adventure no doubt! I really cant wait for this to come out. the 360 is realy becoming a JRPG heaven ... this, infinite undiscovery, last remnant, cry on and so on .... amazing!

it's been in development longer than that actually, since it was originally slated to be released on the PS2 around this time most likely. Anyway, the game is a long ways off still, I hear that SE is holding back development of it till the PS3 has a bigger user base. That they keep moving majority of the people(teams) that are working on it around to other projects for the time being, while keeping a small team semi-working on the project for the sake of things. We probably won't see that game until 2009 at the earliest, maybe in Japan by late 2008. Doesn't matter to me though, let them take their sweet ass time. Game is still my top most wanted RPG, so I would hate for them to rush it out.

Yes FF13 was originally slated for the PS2 but after SE played around with the FF7 trailer they decided to switch it over to the PS3.

So you can only say that FF13 has been in development since then, from what i have read they won't be using any old assets.

So in reality FF13 hasn't been in development as long as Lost Odyssey. (it's been slated for Q4 2008 in Japan)

I watched the demo in better quality, started off pretty boring but ended up quite good, the trailer on the marketplace makes it look frikkin awesome though.
