Hopefully this game is pretty scary. I love me some scary games. Iv recently been jonesing for some condemned so I might go rent that tonight. I look forward to this demo.

great news, i love me a free demo. we dont seem to have had a decent demo in a while now. im hoping for a DiRT demo too this month but i doubt its gonna happen

A demo for Midway's upcoming Area 51 sequel is up on Xbox Live Marketplace weighing in at 583MB.

With the game due out this summer on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, a demo so soon is a bit of a surprise, but we're not complaining.

We're not yet sure what you can actually do in the demo, but we do know you won't be able to do any of it if you live in Germany or Asia, where the demo's not available.

Fortunately it is there for both Gold and Silver Xbox Live users, judging by Major Nelson's post, which also includes the following handy synopsis:

"Modern day fears come to life in a familiar, yet extraordinary setting: A small American town swarming with alien life. The government is desperate, struggling to contain secrets so terrible they can no longer be kept.

"Everything hinges on the actions of Aeran Pierce, a former Special Forces assassin thrown into one of the most explosive moments in American history."

What happened to the edit button ? Anyway demo is awesome but only lasts for about 10 minutes if that. Kinda expected though seeing as its called a teaser demo. Graphics are really really good and the action is top notch. Full game is gonna have online co op so im pretty excited for this.

Didnt think the graphics were that great certainly not as good as Gears of War which uses Unreal 3 engine. As for game not bad but it has terrible framerate problems at times in demo slowdown quite abit. I liked destructable Enviroments etc and combat was good them alien creature thing are ridculoulsy stupid to kill though take a ton of rounds. ?

Overall not bad but not a stunning game and hope that slowdown not in full game.

Very fun demo. Too bad this isn't releasing in Summer. I can't see myself purchasing this anywhere close to Halo 3.

I thought it was a pile of crap:

Graphics are bad, except for the character models

The moving and aiming is way to slow and the weapon handling feels very basic...

My interest in this game now: 0

I just moved today, so everything in the new place is chaos as shit.

I had a gut feeling that in between the moving the demo would be out, and fuck I was right and I hate it.

Anyway I will get the damn demo as soon as my room is locked and load for hooking the stuff up any.

Anyway 10 mins long? what the hell...I was expecting some kind of a online.

Anyway...I will get back on this after I get my hands on my demo.

Fun, very war of the worlds-ish feeling but short. But its a teaser demo :S.

Played it, its ok nothing great, but not very bad either... Hope they release another demo, tho i think will never get the game... Cant get all :/

Whoa, I was kind of ignoring this thread and the demo but man, the game has potential.

Graphics are bad? Next to what exactly? Considering how old this demo is, it looks really awesome. Shadows are perfectly smooth, environments are fairly interactive, the lighting is really really something. When you kill those last enemies, can't anyone else tell how incredible those animations are?

I mean, come on, it's 6 months old. Yes, there's frame drops, clipping, some issues here and there, but so say the graphics are bad? Uh no.

Gameplay itself was pretty standard though, they would have to add more to it. One thing that would help a lot is the feel of the guns, I want to feel them a lot stronger. I saw nothing impressive in regards to AI either.

They have a great setting and cool enemies, if they manage to fix up the framerate, do something cool with gameplay, especially on enemy AI, this game could be very fun.
